OT--need advice on pricing old cabinets

Double posting this as I need to get back with the people tonight.

I am not sure what they are worth.

They are just sitting there taking up space in the barn. I want to sell them, but not a clue what to even start to ask for them. It would be all of the bottom and then whatever we dont use on top of the washer dryer

Our brand new cabinets cost quite a bit.

They would need to be refiinished and most are still fairly sturdy. We would have refinished them if my MIL didnt gift us the new cabinets.

I would almost take $500 just to get the out of the barn, but dont want to short myself if I could make $1000 or more on them....KWIM? Should I price them in individual peices?

yalls help is greatly appreciated......TIA

They look like standard ready made assembled cabinets that you can pick up at Home Depot. Typically used building items will only get you MAX of about 30% of the original retail.

Looking at basic assembled cabinets on the HD website
double base (floor) cabinet $115
Sink base cabinet $150
single base cabinet $75
double wall cabinet $95
over the micro cabinet is $50
single wall cabinet $65
skinny single wall cabinet $45

I'd price them for the whole lot and let them get rid of they don't use.

i checked craigslist.......and didn't see any lots as big as yours.....but they ranged from 400-700 for used, already taken off the wall, you come and take away what you want, cabinets.......LOL......

I would probably ask for $500 but be willing to go down as low as $350. I think that would be reasonable for my area.

I am thinking $200 on the lower cabinets. They arent a expensive as I had once thought since they are just store bought and our new ones are custom built.

now to just figure out what ones we want to put above the washer dryer and to refinish them and then sell those extras.

Thanks ladies!!!!

Kristi, I might think about just selling them as a complete group. Think about what the buyer is going to want. If they are putting these in their kitchen, they are going to want matching base and wall cabinets, KWIM? Plus, if you need to refinish these to use them in your laundry area, think about the cost of materials and your time. Is it worth it to refinish something that you can pick up new for under $100? Refinishing cabinets is a very time consuming project. Very time consuming.

That is funny Mel. DH said last night to just sell them all and he could go get me ones that would fit. He said to do $350 for the entire cabinet set and they could come pick them up or add a $100 and we would deliver....LOL

Yes, I'd sell them all together. Here people often purchase old cabinets to put in their garage or basement. Our neighbor just did that. Good luck!
