So, Vera's post got me thinking about what age you guys with daughters are planning on having the talk. At least the period talk, if not the sex talk. I know I was 8 for both talks. I think that's a good age, but I know I didn't retain nearly enough info by the time I was 12 and I actually got my period.
I'm going to be starting my course for Child Birth Education soon and I think part of what I want to offer as a spin off are holding private workshops for girls and talk about simply menstruation. No sex chat, but basically how the female body works.
So, thoughts? What will your approach be to the chat? What about your sons, will they hear about how the female body works? Anyone brave enough to think this far ahead yet? It will be here sooner than we imagine...as Vera and Emma would tell us, I'm sure!
