So What do the kids want for their Birthdays?

Owen saw a commerical for this Little tikes pillow racer .. and really wants the dinosaur one. We have mostly carpet in the house so it would live at my moms (all hardwoods)

He also asked for a race car puzzle.

We already got him a floor rug with the city streets and buildings and an airport.. between the mass amounts of Hot Wheels and the Viking Toy "little Chubbies" he is all set on that front.

Alicia asked for a castle, princess shoes and a bike. Got the bike, gramma is going to deal with the shoes...a castle has me a bit stumped!

She would really like a leapster but I'm not sure she would use it, and the apps are expensive. Comments from those that got them at xmas?

when lucy went to a "princess party"...they had this so when the girls walked in, and before the party started...they all joined in and started coloring it......it was fun and great way to fill in that "waiting" for all the other princesses to arrive...........and when it gets trashed, you can just recycle it!!

kelly...that rug looks awesome...yay for getting it cheap......tyler got a small construction one for xmas from my C you Next Tuesday sil and he never uses it...we have it in the playroom but they don't even bother to look at it....was thinking this moring of getting rid of it actually....that big one looks cool though

nicole.....they make a disney princess castle...don't remember how much it is though..maybe like 70 bucks but don't quote me on that.....and alyssa uses her leap pad EVERYDAY...she loves it....and i really don't find the apps all that expensive...they are pretty good.....yes they are more expensive than an app for you phone but idk i think it was well worth it......i found out yesterday that she totally finished the mr. pencil game....we're going to need to get the expansion.....she kept wanting to play with tyler's leap pad.....i finally said alyssa your's is the same exact thing...she said but mom i don't have anything left to do on mr. pencil but tyler does.....oooooohhhhh.....i told her to start signing on as guest and start from the beginning.....she loved that idea....lol

i don't think that alyssa even knows that she can 'ask' for something for her birthday....lol....so i can't really say 'what she wants' ...lol.....but i'm pretty sure that we are going to get her a bike...

Miles asked for the pillow racer this morning, too!! Don't know if I want it rolling over my floors though.

Miles wants the evil dr porkchop spaceship so I will get him that. That might be all from me.

I bought a Nintendo DS for Aidan for Christmas and it came with 8 games, we decided to hold off on giving it to him until his birthday, so that's what he's getting from us Biggrin

THIS! He sees it he wants it! He wants a dart board (magnetic darts). We are going to be making a play area in our unfinished basement since the baby will take over the bedroom that is now the toy room so we'll probably get him some things for that. Maybe a racetrack rug, some fun things for the walls. He's going to need sandals. I don't know what else we'll get him. We had thought about going in with M/FIL and B/SIL on a Little Tikes bouncy house for outside but now we're going to have buy him a new dresser and carpet for the play area in the basement so a large gift like that is probably out.

Alanis doesn't really get that she can ask for stuff for her birthday, either. She's just focused on the little party itself. She's been expressing interest in martial arts lately (Ninjago and karate) so I may get her a ninja costume for dress up and will see if there are any Ninjago toys I don't hate. Also we may get her a trial at a local tae kwon do school. I think I am getting Leyla more musical instruments. She loved that cheap keyboard we got her for Christmas, but it's already missing about 6 keys!

Noelle also has no clue that birthdays involves presents, but she is VERY interested in party planning. She loves looking at different cakes online with me and has said several times that she wants balloons. Smile

She's really into Super Why right now, so I'm looking at doing that as a theme. I was looking at some of the figurines and couldn't believe how outrageously expensive they are and I don't think she will like them all that much, honestly.

We're definitely getting her the M&D cookie set and I'll see what else I can find at the big consignment sale next week... Smile She is rarely interested in something for very long and is still largely a nature girl, so there's really no reason to spend a ton of money on gifts that she won't play with for very long.

Nicholas has asked for Legos and a scooter. We are getting him some more Legos and my mom is getting him a scooter. I think Nick's parents may get him the camera attachment for his Leapster Explorer, he asked for that too, but Legos are expensive so he's not getting both.
He is also super excited about the party planning aspect of his birthday and has created his guest list, picked out cupcakes and even told me some of the games we need to play.

Colby also doesn't get he can ask for presents lol! My Mom already got him this outdoor explorer set, since he's really into looking for bugs under rocks and wood, etc. I thought about getting him a little chemistry type set with a microscope....but want to make sure it's not going to blow anything up lol! He's really interested in magnifying glasses and microscopes, so I might just get him those, although we've done simple science experiments with stuff around the house and he's done well with that.

Yep, like Alyssa, Jax has NO clue he can ask for something specific. ROFL AND we don't watch commercials for a reason. ROFL I think he's getting a fishing pole. He keeps asking his dad to take him fishing to the little pond that is down the street. I believe this comes from Little Bear. So, his dad said maybe he would get a fishing pole for his birthday. So, now he keeps asking for his birthday fishin pole.

This is Gwendolyn too! As soon as Christmas was over she started asking for stuff for her birthday. Every single commercial she sees on tv she asks if she can have it for her birthday. She shows most interestin My Little Ponies and the Mermaid Lalaloopsy though. So that is prolly what we will get her.

I think I've used the line "maybe for your birthday" too many times. So Delaney definitely knows she gets presents. Everytime we go to Target or Walmart, she begs to look at the princess aisle. And she wants EVERYTHING on that aisle!! Actually, I know she'll love whatever. She really just loves presents.

Yep, this is Pax too. He is SO focused on gifts, it's something we really need to nip in the bud. I do so much clearance, garage, and sale shopping that I often come home with stuff and he's starting to expect things. A few weeks ago I found some PJs on clearance at the grocery store for $1 each so I got 3 pairs for each kid. When he realized that "only" 3 of them were for him he threw a FIT! DH and I were just boiling, I really don't want a spoiled brat! But, I digress. He wants everything for his birthday, asks for something new every single day. We definitely have to keep it to a minimum so his expectations don't get higher.

Wendy, for that exact reason, I stopped showing him the stuff I buy, I just go put it in their closets. When we get something out to wear and it's new, he recognizes that it is new, and he always gets very excited. I just did a walMart run for backyard mud clothes and warm weather pjs. I got out the new pjs that night and he said 'Oh Momma, new pajamas with an octopus, thank you momma for buying me these new pajamas, they are so very soft.' Jax started acting like Pax last year. I knew it was time to stop showing him everything at the time of purchase. Sad Our biggest thing right now, he never goes to the store with me anymore. Abby and I shop while he is in school. The last 3x he came shopping with me, it was either to pick out a toy for a reward or his dad told him he could get something special while we were out. Now, EVERYTIME we go somewhere, he DEMANDS he gets a toy. This is maddening,

Hey I am doing the Walmart clothes shop this week too! Pj's and play clothes! Smile
I also do not show him what he gets when it's new.. it just appears .

For the record I asked him what he wanted for his birthday...

Also we were very strict over the years with him about getting things while we are out.. it NEVER happens..and he has never expected it.. EVER. I might go back and get if right after but never while he is there. He is really good about going up and down the toy aisles and looking but always says "momma I like this for Christmas" it's only recently occured to him to say "birthday" .

Cheyenne asks for everything she sees. She got a Puss in Boots DVD (my mom had taken her to see it when she watched the kids, so she had already seen it, but wanted the DVD.....).

I wanted to get her some walmart shirts and shorts, but they were out of her size. She got one shirt, I got her a kit with two color wonder books, color wonder markers, and color wonder paints. The boys have color wonder stuff, but she didnt have any girly color wonder books....LOL......She doesnt have to color Cars anymore..

I also found her a pair of house shoes at Walmart for $2.00. And she loved those the most. They are Pink. Around the house I try to get them to keep their feet in something since the dogs bring in cactus stickers from prickly pears and chollas.....OUCH.

I will get most of her clothes on my next trip to TX....I need a Kohls fix.
