Was she the one behind the Queen with the drag makeup??

Loved the dress, I really like simple and understated, and I think that's exactly what that dress was.

Loved when you could tell William said "you look beautiful" when Kate made it to the alter.

Loved hearing the bells as they left, even though you could barely hear them over the crowd!

Don't know why but seeing Elton John there made me laugh, lol!

Love it. Smile Her dress is SOOO similar to Grace Kelly's. She pulls it off beautifully.

I love weddings. Smile Though Violet kept looking for Maleficent to appear in a cloud of smoke and ruin the day. lol.

LOVE the HATS!!! If I had to wear a hat, I'd wear a FREAKING HAT!!! LOL!!

Agree about the dress being lovely. I only caught the end (I laughed at Elton John, too) but have it DVR'd.

Waiting VERY anxiously for them to appear on the balcony right now.

(LOL at Malificent).

Well, I over slept, so not wearing my hat. But I had it all set out and ready to put on for watching the festivities.

I'm loving all of this. unfortunately William's sleep schedule last night kept me from waking up, he was up at 2am for nunnies and I promptly passed out right after, but I did dream about it alot LOL.

Her dress is absolutley beautiful, what a stunning bride. The balcony kiss was a bit anticlimatic, I was hoping for a bit more passion, but I guess it's a bit nervewracking to kiss infront of soooo many people

Is anyone else like me and doesn't really care about the wedding? I prefer my sleep. LOL

she was just gorgeous - loved the dress! Loved some of the hats, so fancy. But other hats (like the picture a few posts back) - really?

I didn't watch any of it but I did just look at pics of her dress. I'm not crazy about all the lace and the cut on top, I think it made her look too thin. And those hats in the pp are hilarious!!!

I care. I love weddings! Plus, this is actually a big piece of history, so it's cool to be able to witness it. Unlike an election or some other big piece of history that often upsets half the people, this is truly 100% joyful!

I'm happy for them. And she looked amazing. They truly seem to be in love.

I love it! Landon let me watch a little snipit this morning, but it is all on the DVR ready to go!

We are going to watch a fairy tale movie tonight in my bed and have a sleepover, Landon apparently has been listening to mom lately LOL!

I think it's kind of cool that Miles is only a little bit younger than I was when Prince Charles married Diana. Obviously I don't what memories I have of seeing it live vs seeing pictures and video of it over the years, but I do vaguely remember it being important when I was a kid.

ETA: And from what I've read online, I am the ONLY person in the world who thinks those hats are AWESOME!! LOL!!

I just think if you're gonna wear a hat - GO BIG!!!

ETA #2: I'm hoping when I'm in London in July all the wedding merchendise will be on sale so I can get some horribly kitchy commorative plate or tea set or something, lol.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy for them. I'm just not personally invested in it.

I am normally up at 5AM anyways, so I watched it. I LOVED her dress and thought it was perfect for her style. She is definately very classic and traditional and stylish and that dress was all those things. She is a really beautiful girl for sure. I really liked her sisters bridesmaid dress also, just simple and pretty.

I would totally wear a facinator (the crazy hats that are on a headband thingy). I love them. Shoot, I might go out and get one and wear it today anyways. My girlfriend is, LOL. Mine wouldn't be crazy to large, just some cute feathers and flowers.

Just learned this tidbit - puts our funny names to shame. And hers is actually REAL:

Catherine's full style and title hence is Her Royal Highness Princess William Arthur Philip Louis, Duchess of Cambridge, Countess of Strathearn, Baroness Carrickfergus.

Yes, she got the big title to avoid being called Princess William. Not joking.

I really thought I didn't give a hoot, but now that it is over and the pictures and videos are up on the web, I am really enjoying ogling them. She is so incredibly beautiful, and I love the Grace Kelly dress. I didn't like the lead-up hype, but I agree it is a real pleasure to stare at all this fairy-tale wonderfulness.

I was thirteen when Princess Diana got married and I stayed up all night at a friend's place to watch that. I think I was really feeling jaded by the way that marriage went so completely pear-shaped. I hope and think it is very different for Kate and William.

I was more horrified by the shoes than the hats - you EXPECT crazy hats at an even like this, and I agree GO BIG OR GO HOME - but did you see some of the SHOES?!? How could anybody stand up in them, let alone walk? I thought they looked awful.

I wouldn't normally be into it, but it did take place on Karina's (and Kaylee's) birthdays...so an important piece of history is happening on their birthdays which I love. Today is also Emperor Hirohito's birthday, an important figure in Japanese history.

The only reason I watched it is because Colby woke up at 4:45am. Turned on the TV at just the right time at 5:30am as she was taking her car ride to the abbey. Otherwise I would have missed everything, didn't DVR it, would have caught the tidbits on the news! But, all in all I'm glad I DID see it live, told Colby he was watching the royal wedding and that he had to remember he saw it when he was older, lol.

didn't get a chance to read all the replies yet

but wanted to say that i thought her dress was very classy...much nicer than diana's dress although that was prolly the style back then....loved that she had on a nice classy tiara too and not an ugly thing with a buch of puff and feather coming out!!!

i had forgotten all about it until i turned on the tv this morning.....right in time for her car ride so i did watch.....was a little upset that i couldn't see the local weather lol..but that's ok...the wedding was on every stinkin channel.....steve asked if it was on noggin too and then went into his redition of wubbzy's royal wedding...wow wow....lol

im all for the fancy floppy hats and what not but that thing that andrew's daughter i think it was....that was not even a hat....i don't know wth it was lol

Oh Emily, get as much tacky wedding stuff you can, it'll be worth something one day.

I've been looking forward to this day since the day they announced their engagement. I heart the Royal Family, I loved Diana's wedding, even though I was very young, I just remember it being sooo magical with the HUGE dresses and horses etc...

I liked the top of Kate's dress, but I thought the bottom would be more form fitting than it was, it was beautiful, don't get me wrong but I was thinking it would be more figure hugging. Her sister was beautiful and I loved when Prince Harry said to William "wait until you see her" and then Harry kept stealing glances, OMG it was so sweet and yes I teared up a bit....I'm such a sucker for this stuff.

I'm with Arty. I like weddings and all. But not enough to get out of bed to watch it. Honestly, I didn't even realize it was today!! I did know it was this week, but was unsure of the exact time/date.

Those "hats" are a crack up. I think only Lady Gaga could pull of that beige one!

I turned on the news this morning and the Today show had trumped local news with wedding coverage. Her dress was beautiful and she looked stunning.

Oh, and I have to say, as stunning as I think Kate looked - her sister, the bridesmaid looked A-Freaking-Mazing!!!

She is smokin' hot. Though 1) WTF kind of a name is Pippa? and 2) wee bit too much of the spray tan.

Bangin' bod though.

Her name is Philippa.. a common nickname is Pippa

I thought Pippa looked awesome.. though I would have chosen a different colored dress for the Maid of Honor.. maybe a pale green since it was a "British Garden" theme in Westminster.

OMG it was beautiful! I didn't go down for it, they shut down the 2 tube stations to get out of there so it would have been MADNESS trying to get home. But I did go down the day before, we walked around Buckingham Palace and the Abbey, it was crazy with the folks camped out and the news crews. SO many more tourists that usual (from what I've seen anyway)!! People were having little celebrations all over, it was really cool Smile

Haven't had a chance to read all the posts yet, but I loved it! I loved her dress! I loved all of the nods to Diana! I loved the intimacy of them with him telling her she looked beautiful when she got to the alter. I did think the kiss was a bit tense, but I guess I would have a hard time kissing with any enthusiasm with millions watching too. I didn't get to see the whole thing since I got out voted for the TV by 4 little boys who wanted to see Mickey, but I got to watch most of it before they woke up Smile

How cool to even be there, the air must have been thick with excitement. I've always wanted to go to England.......some day lol
