Support Thread---April 08 Belly Bustin #1

The POBLC (prg.org biggest loser challenge) is coming to an end and this is the last week.
Are any of you considering signing back up? I will if we have a team, but if we dont get a team, I would like to continue eating right, drinking water, and exercising and I do better if I have a place I am accountable......

Do we want to have an April 08 Belly Busters thread here on our own birth board, where we dont count our points, but a place to go to offer support like we do on the POBLC? I know we also have a FB page as well and Stephanie from TX doesnt sign on anymore to prg.org.

Ideas?

I know there are also some that dont want to participate in the POBLC, but are exercising. Would those that are getting in shape without the POBLC want to participate in our own thread here? It would be a BBB about just getting healthy or in shape.......

I wont do the weight challenge because that is not what I am trying to do. I am trying to tone my body and get where I dont pass out when I have to run after a calf. ROFL

I admire participants but can't be one. If anyone tells me - even if I tell myself - that I must restrict or track my eating, I immediately panic and run into the pantry to snack. Not kidding. I can't even think about it without getting hungry.

Off to eat something...

I don't think I would do the challenge because I know I would be terrible about keeping track of points, but I would be down to have a thread here on our birthboard. That way we can all still get support/encouragement but we don't have to keep track of points.

Once again I was the worst.teammate.ever! I would love a log on here just to report our exercise and talk about our workouts/food/progress! Not signing up for the challenge, but if we just keep this going or make something..I am all for it : )

I, too, have been having trouble trying to keep up. I miss a day or two here or there.......so lets just make this our chatty weight loss, getting healthy, etc etc thread and just post when we remember to or can and that way we dont have to keep points etc.....that gets to be too much!!!!!

For those that dont know, my sister is getting married on May 21st and I am Matron of Honor and she has me wearing a dress that doesnt have enough fabric IMO. I did talk her out of making me wear strapless.........but I am trying to get rid of my muffin top and the bat wings before May, oh and my calves need toning....Then in July we are going on a cruise and so I actually want to continue after the wedding to get into swim suit shape.

Today was Day 9 of Level 2 (Jillians 30 Day Shred). Only five more times before I try Level 3. I havent watched it yet to see how gruelling it really is. I am a dork and watch the workout videos before I try them to see what to expect.

Think my DVD 6 weeks to a 6 pack will be in tomorrow. I am trying to figure out if I am more excited to try it out or the prospect of having a semi flat belly after 13 years.......

I think for the first time I am sort of excited to go suimsuit shopping in June.

Since starting working out I just dont crave the sweets like I used to, cokes either. I will still have one here or there, but I dont 'need' one every day. KWIM?

For those of you that want to try and track (I am still working at it... ) a great website to use
http://www.fatsecret.com/

also have great recipes on there!

I am on Week 2: day 2...RIGHT NOW! Off to do HIIT 20/ Stretch 10... yes...it may be only a 20 minute workout but...that means 20 minute DRILLS! So basically I do crazy as things for 70 seconds.. get a 45-55 second water break.....repeat. Insane. But I love it!

Today is my rest day! I overindulged a little on breakfast so I am going to try to get some pilates in...and well 100 push up's Smile

Can I just say Holy Crap, 6 weeks to a six pack isnt your normal abdominal workout.....Level one is very intense....I couldnt do even the modified versions. I am going to keep up with and do what I can and do my own modified super weiny versions until I can do the modified....It may take me 10-12 weeks to get a six pack.....

Day 10 Level 2 30 Day Shred
Day 1 Level 1 6 weeks to a six pack

Then later we have to hang gates on our front entrance cause we keep having cow visitors and the neighbors have been seen pushing their horses into our yard. I dont care if they graze, but d@mn they are getting on the porch and my flower beds and that just dont fly with me......

Oh did I mention I might not be able to move tomorrow? ROFL

I keep repeating "I will be toned....the bat wings and muffin top will be gone and I will look smoking hot!!!!!" The hardest part is that I have a bunch of other things going on and it is getting harder to fit it in. Next week I will have to feed cows two times a day for Zack to show mothers day weekend. but Zack will help me. DH is leaving again tonight........

I have to do this for me. I have to feel good again. I have to stop being so tired to where anything and everything is exhausting........

oh and my dvd came with a 30 day free membership to Jillians website.. I am going to sign up Monday!!! I figure it wont do me much good since I am leaving to my sisters shower this weekend...KWIM?

okay off to pack and so something productive around the house.....

Okay........

I may be interested...at least in a support thread! I'm doing it anyway, but really bad about logging on and then I have guilt in letting my team down!!

I just started a new challenge and the winner gets 400 buckaroos!! That's some motivation!

I'm using an app on my phone and the website is sparkpeople.com. I Phone has an app called lose it. They're basically the same thing. Put in your starting weight and goal weight and it tells how many calories to consume in a day. You log your food and exercise and can see reports. It's great because it's right there on my phone.

Marcie, so glad to see you!!!!!!!!

Kristi, pain is gain momma!!! If you are sore you are pushing... all for good reason Yahoo Keep working out through the pain!!! It may hurt but you will feel awesome when you are done!

I was going to get up to workout this morning, but decided against it. sooooo glad I did. Landon was up 5:50 anyway, and no hot water!!!! I apparently used it all from laundry, dishes, and halfway through Landon's bath last night it was out! Odd, that I don't have any after last night...but the heat is still working? Oh well, washing my hair in cold water was bad enough, can't imagine my WHOLE BODY!!!

HIIT 15/Sculpt 30 is on the menu for today! Both will kill me in good ways lol

I love the idea of this thread! I've tried and failed with dvd's. I just have a hard time sticking with the program and following through. My bf and I went and played tennis the other day though and I was SORE. That was a workout. We're supposed to go get bikes today too. I have a treadmill that I should use more. I don't think I want to really lose any more weight, but I do want to get toned. Maybe I should focus more on weight training... but that would mean actually having to go to the gym... hmm.

Has anyone done pilates/yoga to get toned and tight and have a dvd they would suggest?

I tried two new exercise activities this week. On Thursday I went to a Stroller Strides class and it was a great workout and this morning I did a P90 workout and it was great too! I highly recommend both of them.

I really like it. Now, granted I've been taking a hiatus from it, but I need to get back. I didn't get it in today...took Grace for a walk to look for ducks instead. BECAUSE she DID NOT nap. Kept trying to tickle me instead.

Grace was not happy with me tonight when I decided to do Turbo Jam. At one point I was doing it with her in my arms, but then gave up. Turned if off, got her something to eat, and then told DH I was going back upstairs to workout. It just felt sooo good. Now hoping this feeling continues tomorrow after a day of working, so I can do DAY 2.

I fell off the wagon this weekend. Moms house you know. I had my fave restaurant twice. Drank Saturday night and now it is time to get back with the program. I plan on working out today, but have to lay down again after breakfast. My head is killing me. no way I could work out with it feeling like my eyes are bugging out of my head.. sinuses.

This week is a busy week thru the weekend. Hoping to get a workout in Mon-Thur for sure, but the weekend will be too busy to fit time. Unless I can get up at the crack of dawn.

Tried to just jump right in and do p90x this morning. Might help if I read the instruction guide and printed our the little worksheet thing first though. And I apparently need a pull up bar. Only got about 25 mins into it though before JD woke up and started fussing. I am trying to get motivated to take them out for a run though. The thought of running with the heavy jogging stroller just isn't quite that appealing to me right now. Must.Get.Motivated!!!!

Day 12 Level 2 30 Day Shred
Day 3 Level 1 Six Weeks to a Six Pack...
no elliptical yet......

OUCH!~!!!! I am sore today.

I watched level 3 of the 30 day shred and probably need to go ahead and do Level 2 for a few more days instead of stopping at the 14. LOL I still cant do some of the advance moves and am stuck on the modified.

worked out yesterday and was busy all the rest of the day and didnt have a chance to come back and post.

food is not good, but it isnt bad bad either.

I have a hard time with motivation too. I just turn on the video, change into my work out clothes and fit it in with my other chores right now. Today working out was a big chore since I am so sore from yesterday.

I'm going to jump in! I'm starting the Couch to 5k program with a friend of mine so we can do a 5k in September. I've never done a race before, so I'm excited!

My doc has cleared me to do light treadmill stuff/walking, but I had a little setback this past week with an abscess under my c-section incision, so I need to get totally cleared by him at my 6 wk pp visit before getting into anything too crazy.

I also need to get signed up at the Y again, but probably won't be able to until next week due to DH's payday.

So this thread helps me keep up with where I am

Day 1 Level 3--30 Day Shred
Day 5 Level 1--6 weeks to a six pack.
did a little arm work with my little 3 lb weights to target the bat wings.

wedding is 10 days away. not sure if my arms will be where I want them, but I can see muscle definition that was not there before.

If I get brave I will post photos after lunch......lol......

Paula are you still doing shakeology and working out?

so it is so depressing that I have been working out all this time and have not shed a pound. I would love to be back at 130 but I am stuck at 146-147................I am not eating hardly any sweets or desserts, I hardly ever have a coke anymore.......I am not pigging out.

FRUSTRATION!!!

Kristi, I would try some light weight lifting! Even resistance bands! That way you can build some lean muscle and lose the fat! Mix it in with your cardio:)

You will get there girl, don't worry! Hard work pays off!

I just had a five day stint of no work outs. That longhorn show took up all my time and energy.

I am going to try to find some of that whey powder to make some shakes with and use that as a meal replacement. it is on her page that way.

I got a free 30 day membership to jillians page...I have been checking out the recipes and such. Some sound really gross to me......

okay, so I might have redid my diet too well. Yesterday I woke up at 146lbs and today I weighed at 143lbs. I didnt even work out. I am doing a little dance, but thinking that isnt really healthy to lose that much in one day!!

Today is workout day and keeping on track with the eating, maybe adding just a little more calories for the workout. I hope my back still isnt sore.

Kristi, they say if you really want to lose weight...80% of your weightloss is DIET, the other 20% is exercise! So, if you are working hard and eating sh!tty, you are just going to stay the same but lose a little here and there! THIS IS ME! I need to completely revamp my diet and STICK TO IT! blah, why is food so controlling! I don't want to take things away from myself but I need to do that based on calorie counting! Blah. Really need to get back into it

true. But then if you dont eat enough you body also hangs on to that fat too......I dont want to hang on!!!!

I had only 699 calories before 230. I came home and had a snack of celery and PB and then a whey protien shake and I am up to 904 calories............

I also worked out as well.

I just need to find the correct food balance to loose but still be able to function.....gotta feed cows after getting zack and I needed some energy to get that done. which I need to go get zack as his practice ends at 4...LOL

whoopsies.

I have read that unless it is an extreme case (like severely obese) you should never go under 1200 cals. So make sure you are eating enough!

I just don't think that is enough for you, Kristi, not with all the work you do in a day. As backwards as it sounds, if you are not eating enough, you will not lose any weight. I tried out WW once for 3 months, I rarely went over my points, and I did not lose any weight at all. I went off WW and started eating more and lost 3 pounds in two weeks! I don't think I had put in my activitiy level high enough. Anyways, my point is that if you don't eat enough your body is going to go into starvation mode and conserve and hold on to any fat/calorie intake it can because it thinks you are not going to feed it.

How much water retention do you think happens when you are on the BCP?

My DH is telling me that what I have to lose is water retention from the BCP.

I am scared to death to get pregnant, so doubt I will go off them, but he tells me that he heard it on the doctors on that tv show.

I feel like I retain a lot of water while on BCP the week before my period. Midol helps a lot with that because it has a diuretic (sp?) in it. I do not think it is safe to take a diuretic all the time though. I just had paraguard put in and it is hormone free and I do feel less bloated than I used to. Could just be a coincidence, idk. I have only had it in for a week though so I don't know if it will help with the major bloating that I get come AF time though.

I retain water about a week before my period. I just try and drink a ton of water!! Suchs cause you have to go to the bathroom all the time but it's still good for ya! I have never noticed that I retain it all month long.

Oh...hope you don't mind me just randomly jumping in here!! I am still on WW and doing poorly in the weight loss department. I don't feel I am over eating but the darn weight just won't go anywhere. I think next week I will sit down and talk to someone at a meeting.

Hello...jumping in here!!

I don't think I have it in me to do Jillian. I've heard horror stories!! LOL

I've been doing zumba once a week at the Y and love it! I'm hoping that now that school is out I can go to a couple more a week. I've also been walking about 4 miles or doing cardio videos on Netflix.

Last week my weight loss kind of stalled and I think it was bloating from AF. I'm hoping this week will amp back up. It's amazing how much better I feel from exercising. I think that's key to weight loss (and the part I tend to skip).

Are any of you girls doing Belly Busters? Just curious how that's going...
