valentines for class mates

so.. ...for those with littles in school/daycare...what's everyone doing for valentines day for classmates???????

my sister had gotten the kids each a little mailbox with valentines in it....princess and cars....so i'll use them but i pick up little individual 'sweetheart' packets for the kids in alyssa's class....i thought they were too hard for tyler's class so i picked up individual pack valentine fruit snacks for his class ....and i'll attach the valentines to that.......do you think that's too cheesy

i don't know how extreme people get anymore....lol....especially when they are this little....lol

for the teachers i picked them each up a thing of hand cream and i'm going to do the cut out hand thing that someone had posted....gotta go look it up LOL ....but i think it said something like 'i wanted to give you a hand...happy valentine's day' or something like that...gotta go look it up again...lol

but i am doing julies orange gift......i have the fruitlady swinging by tomorrow with a case of morrocan clementines(they are the absolute best tasting juicy sweetness known to man kind!!!! if you ever see the little boxes and they say from morroco....BUY THEM, you will be in your glory!!!!)
we are going to wrap them in red and pink tulle and on the ribbon to tie them up.....we are making heart shrinky dinks as accents....and we will make our own heart cards and lucy is going to write "orange you glad we're friends!!!

Miles is in the butterfly class so we cut out butterfly wings and then taped a dumdum in the middle (so it'd be like the butterfly body). Then we put stickers on the wings. That was all I could get him to do.

His school asks that you make homemade valentines.

For his teachers, I'm doing something similar to what Ruth posted in her craft thread, with the toilet paper tubes, but I got little dove chocolate hearts to fill the toilet paper tubes with candy. Then cover with paper and add the butterfly wings.

I'm totally keeping the orange thing in mind for next year!

a la Pinterest Nicholas's say "You're "toad"ally awesome, Valentine" and have a little plastic frog on them and William's (that aren't done yet will say "I "wheel"ie like you, Valentine" and have a little car attached. N's school has the no candy policy too.
N is working on signing his name, we got 8 done tomorrow, between school and our mom's group he needs 30, so he'll be signing for a few more days with his attention span what it is for writing...

Just in case you aren't sure what a clementine wrapped in tulle looks like, this is what we are doing lol! Just for future reference if anyone wants to do it, it takes about 1.5 yards of tulle to make about 26, and about 18 feet of ribbon to tie. I signed his name to the back and he drew a bunch of junk on the back and put on the heart stickers, helped cut the tulle and ribbon.

I am so stealing the clementine idea. You guys ROCK. Ack, we still have to decorate a box. I am so not crafty.

Hey Julie, what are the dimensions of the tulle after you cut it?

We have to bring popcorn for the party and figure there will be enough stuff there for him to eat.

i used 10X10 inch squares( i bought 1.5 yrds of pink and 1.5 yrds of red tulle....and put one orange on 3 squares of tulle....2 pink one red, 2 red on pink........kinda thing) and i used 2 rolls of ribbon......about 8-10 inches for each wrap.....for the labels i used leftover foam from halloween costumes....same saying and lucy signed the backs...oh and the same little heart stickers.....LOL!!!!!! all compliments of walmart....the tulle was 97cents a yard......and the ribbon was on sale in a huge cardboard bin for $1.50 a roll.....the oranges were 12 bucks for the 2 boxes......but there were tons left over for us for the week....LOL!!!!!!!

Same here. Except Delaney is only able to write the D so I did the rest. I figured we don't want to set our expectations too high right from the start!!!

At 11pm I remembered I never got C to sign her cards. I pulled them out of the box and an hour later I just got them separated, signed and stickered.

And I caved. I made little baggies of goodies to send to preschool because I feel bad I have done NOTHING for the class this year being sick.

We did popcorn and m&ms coated almond bark - we did a little bag for each kid. Cohen came home with a RIDICULOUS amount of stuff. Mostly candy but some little erasers, bubbles, pencils, paper, stampers etc.... SO. MUCH. STUFF!
