What are you thankful for?

With all the sadness around me lately I have really been focusing on all the blessings in my life. Since this month is Thanksgiving (for those of us in the US) I thought I'd start a thread about what we are thankful for. Some days it's just the little things in life...like the ability to purchase a nice cup of coffee.

So, what are you thankful for?

Stephanie - I just wrote a post on my blog about this topic.

Here is my list for today:
1 - Listening to Grace sing "Jesus, loves me"
2 - Getting moments to snuggle and rock Grace again just like when she was a newbie.
3 - Hot apple cider
4 - Signing a contract to SELL THIS HOUSE
5 - sleeping in just a little bit longer on a Saturday because my wonderful husband got up when a certain little person started yelling Mama, Mama.
6 - Grace (Every.Single. Thing about her)...even the constant why? why? why?
7 - Being a parent. This is one of the greatest gifts.
8 - Bars behind the vents in my car, so when my child tries to use it like a cash register, the coins don't actually go all the way in the heating and ac vents.
9 - Knowing that my patience is restored each and every day.
10 - Dora Band-aids for $2 at Big Lots. We go through a lot of band-aids. (Grace uses them as accessories. Lots and lots of accessories.)

And I read this last week during my morning daily readings. There is more but this paragraph really hit home for me.

"Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless - that's your job, to bless. You'll be a blessing and also get a blessing."

My list is ongoing. Today it is for dh doing everything with the kids while I sit and watch from the recliner. And humoring me and taking me out shopping even though he probably knew I wouldn't have the energy to make it very far.

I am thankful for two healthy (minus the typical cold, etc) children. I am thankful for a husband who works his arse off with 2 jobs to support us. I am thankful I have a family that is supportive of whatever I do, even if they don't totally agree with my choices. I am thankful we have a home with no danger of losing it (knock on wood). I am thankful for good friends. I am thankful for my grandmother who is already meal planning for the week she'll spend here over Thanksgiving. There's so much I'm thankful for really!

I am thankful for my family. My husband and children are my world and I cannot imagine life without one of them. I am thankful that I can be home with them every day (even though I complain about it sometimes). I am thankful for every single minute that I get to spend with DH and try to make the most out of every day we have left with him before he leaves. I am especially thankful for all he does for us...he sacrifices so much for us and always puts us and our needs first. I am very lucky to have him in my life. I am thankful for my friends, IRL and online, because without them... I think I would lose my sanity.

I am thankful for my family. I am thankful we are able to send Braelyn to a wonderful preschool where she is now repeating Bible versus back to me and singing praise songs. I am thankful that I have the opportunity to go to school to hopefully be a nurse some day. I am thankful that we are all healthy (excluding B's stomach flu ths weekend). I am thankful DH has a wonderful job that allows us to have a warm home, food on the table and the ability to buy the extra things we do not really need. I am thankful for being married almost 12 years and that we have not given up when times have gotten tough. I am thankful when my kids hug me and tell me that they love me. I am thankful I get to be part of dog showing and all the people who surround and support me - especially when things go badly. I am thankful every day that I wake up and my dog's heart is still beating and that is another day that I get to spend with him. I love you all and do not know how I would have made the past 4 years without you!!!
