all of a sudden he hates everything!

Public Enemy number 1: my right boob!

Public Enemy number 2: afternoon naps!

Public Enemy number 3: his Moby wrap!

what is UP with my baby? The last week or so he seems to have simply decided that he hates everythnig - started with afternoon naps - near impossible to get him to sleep and stay that way - have given up on his crib and afternoon naps now take place in his swing - not ideal, but hey, at least he sleeps for more than 15 minutes in there!

Then he has decided that my right boob is the enemy! he screams, and fusses and yanks at it before giving up completely and just wailing... what's up with that? I can get him to take it in the middle of the night, and perhaps first thing in the morning, but apart from that, it's a battle - sometimes if I start on the left one for about 5 minutes then do a quick switch, he'll take it, other times he starts to wail right away... supply problem?? I don't know, but it's really getting to me...

And the last few times I've put him in the Moby, for shopping trips for ex. he has screamed his head off - he used to just nod off to sleep... this really worries me as we're travelling in about a month, and I was hoping to avoid using a stroller in the airports and just use the moby but....

agghhh... what is UP with my kid???

that sucks
boob - i started letting her latch herself sometimes, she prefers to sit on my leg facing me and feed herself! her left ear has been bugging her a bit with the teething so it seems to bug her to be laying on that side (nurse checked and said it's just her teeth)
moby - turned her around
naps - started leaving her to play on her mat (this only works if they like the mat!) and she would put herself down then wake up and continue playing, but only if i was out of sight and hearing range, just tuck myself on the puter behind the big chair so i can still see and hear her.
good luck and sending lots of patience your way, it will be nice when they can tell us what they want (okay ftm dreams, i do know it never ends!)

Mine are doing the same thing too - HATE their swing now, and it literally went from one day loving it, next day HATING it.

We finally figured out that Spark was in pain... just the way she cried and moved sometimes. She responds really well to infant tylenol on occasion, and it really calms her. (We got the liquid grape flavour and they seem to both like it.) I'm not saying drugs are the answer to everything - but tylenol certainly helps us out sometimes! Do you think your boy might be teething, or have reflux? Lying down is painful sometimes when you have reflux, and also the Moby might be putting some weird pressure on his tummy. Worth a thought Smile I hope he feels better soon!

Sorry he's being so difficult right now.

I have no advice on the naps, it's a good day for us if I can get her down for 3 half hour naps, that occur on me. Every day I try to put her down in her crib, and every day she wakes up the second i shift. As long as bedtime keeps going okay, i'm okay with it.

As for the boob, Annabelle does this every once in a while. I just put her on the offending one when she's sleepy, and usually within a day or two she's back to liking both.

With the moby, are you still putting him in the same positions? I agree, try facing him out, see if that helps.

Hope he turns back into his sweet self again soon.

Grumpy babies Karen... our babies have a case of the grumps!

Jordan fidgets SO bad sometimes when I feed her. It's both boobs though. She has a love/hate relationship with them for sure. I just have to take a lot of deep breaths b/c I know she is hungry but she acts frustrated. I worried about supply but she seems satisfied and has plenty of wet and poopy diapers so *shrug*. I dunno.

I definitely think turning him out in the Moby will help. Jordan hates not being able to see what's going on and she is usually content in the Bjorn or Moby for a little while, as long as she isn't tired and as long as she can look around.

Jordan has decided that sleep all together is the enemy. I have actually had some minor breakdowns lately... I am so sleep deprived and she is too! I think it's a phase. I'm praying it's a phase. It HAS to be a phase or I will die from exhaustion.

I'm right there with you mama. Come to Texas and we can let our grumpy babes talk it out.

I agree with others about facing out in the Moby. DD hates being worn if she has to face in - she just whines and complains. If I turn her around, she's happy-go-lucky.

and if they ever go to sleep we can have a drink... ahhh... 'cheers from over the ocean'... it's been a while since I've said that to you!! Wink

so... general consensus is to turn him around in the Moby... i did think about that, but was worried he's not strong enough for it yet... will try it out for a short trip and see how it goes....

I agree with turning him around in the Moby. We did that with Liam and it has made a big difference. I just kind of helped hold him up in a rather silly looking hold where my arm was around his neck. It worked until he was stronger!

Around 4 months they also become so much more awake. Liam started hating his car seat around 4 months. Last week he screamed for literally 2.5 hours on our way home from vacation. It was so awful! He just wanted to be free. As soon as I stopped the car and opened the back door, he was completely happy and all smiles. He's also become a huge pain nursing because he wants to look around and see what is going on - not stare at my boobs.

The boob thing could also be the result of an incoming tooth? Something my pediatrician suggested when Liam was super fussy feeding. He suggested I try giving Tylenol about 15 minutes before I feed him and if it is a tooth, that should help. If he's still fussy, then you'll know it probably isn't a tooth!

Good luck to you - hopefully it is all a phase that will end quickly!

A drink would be so nice. I am craving a nice mojito with all this hot weather. When I do finally get to have one I will definitely send you a "cheers" from this side of the Atlantic! Biggrin

Good morning

Good morning. As families across the country enjoy the summer,Zentai Clothes Americans can be optimistic about our economic future. In the past four years, our economy has been through a lot: we faced a stock market decline, a recession, corporate scandals, lycra spandex an attack on our homeland, and the demands of an ongoing war on terror. To grow the economy and help American families, we acted by passing the largest tax relief in a generation. And today, spandex catsuit thanks to the tax relief and the efforts of America's workers and entrepreneurs, our economy is strong and growing stronger. This past week, we learned that America added over 200,000 new jobs in July. Since May of 2003, we've added nearly 4 million new jobs. The unemployment rate is down to 5 percent, below the average of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. And more Americans are working today than ever before in our nation's history.

i agree, check ears and teeth, but it could just be him growing up! It's frustrating when they go from happy to grumpy over something that they liked the day before Sad Katie has become happier when I wear her on my back rather than facing me, or in the sling on my hip, sitting up. Time to try those toddler babywearing positions! (Isn't it strange to think of your previously tiny baby as a toddler?!)

wow... a very old post resurrected by spam!! LOL
I was so confused to see this old post had a new reply today!
And oh the memories it brings back of a very rough month I had with J - seems like the distant past now!
In retrospect, I can now say that the feeding and sleeping issues we were having back then was more than likely due to the fact that I was severly hypothyroid at the time and so my supply was probably the culprit. Once I got my meds adjusted, feeding times settled down again.
