I have lost about 10 pounds on my own since March. I should join up with you gals. But do you follow a plan or just follow your own plans? How does that work??

jump right on in, the rules are simple, you get points for doing healthy things, there are some rules however! you pick the diet (be it a company name or just the government healthy eating guide) exercise, drink your water, get some sleep and support your teammates.

after you sign up on the sign up link in the first post, then head on over to the spring chat thread to read the rules and see how it works (or vice versa!!) on the BLC main board you will find

our next challenge thread! we will be using the spring thread until all members are saved and accounted for!!! every tues you post your points on your tracking thread, i go there and make a note of them all then post to the main board! we also chat on facebook and i always try to put up a reminder somewhere about the points. we'd be glad to see you there!!

So if you just follow like the food pyramid that counts as a plan? Or can you just do something like, follow a 1700 calorie per day diet? I'm sorry I'm so confused. LOL

I did WW years ago and lost 30 pounds, but I can't afford to do it right now. I'm just a little too afraid to commit to anything too stringent as I know DH won't follow it and it'll stress me out. But I'm really wanting to add in exercise, more water, and all those good things!

yeppers! i'm working off the food guide, x number of servings per day, mixing up colours for fruits and veggies, paying attention to serving sizes, etc. and the best part is that dh didn't even notice, he still got great food and as he is so skinny it just meant that he got bigger portions, plus i told him it was for jades health too that we all eat better! that was the biggy!
feel free to jump in and start slow, ask lots of questions, and don't worry so much about the points at first we all have our own way off following the rules with these things! when i started i printed the food rainbow (canada's newest pyramid example) and taped it to the cupboard at eye level. for each day that i meet (or exceed with veggies) the serving recommendations then i get a 5 if the rest of my food has followed as well, deduct points from yourself for 'bad choices' not meeting the full servings, etc.
