...from every having to go back to the audiologist ever again! Yay!!
If you remember, she failed her newborn hearing screening (a common thing with C-section babies, apparently) and we've had to go to several hearing screens over the course of the past year. She had the last one at 6 months of age and we were told that she was in a normal hearing range and that if she were still there at 1 year old, she'd be cleared.
We had the test today, and after 8 minutes of different sounds and her name being piped in at her, she was cleared! She heard them all and was declared to have normal hearing. Phew!
The test was kinda creepy, almost like a Twilight Zone episode, though. The booth was a bit old looking and they had these like old looking muppets in the speakers that would move when she acknowledged a sound from the correct speaker. The doctor said a lot of babies are scared of them. Not Maia. She was just annoyed and ready to go! LOL
But, anyway, par-tay! I'm so relieved and happy this is behind us. I'm off work today so we've just been taking it easy. She's napping at the moment, so Mommy's taking a break!
