Proud Mommy Moments

I was sitting on the couch this morning and stopped to watch Nathan in Noah's room for a minute. He did a whole puzzle all by himself. I think I showed him put 1 piece in a while back. I had no idea he knew how to do puzzles. So I took a couple others out of the closet that he had never seen before and sure enough he put all the pieces in the right spots pretty quickly. That was my proud mommy moment of the day. Just thought I would share! Feel free to share yours too!

Annabelle can do the peg puzzles to! Also loves building towers of blocks, and keeps adding in more two and three word sentences. She was at her dayhome a few weeks ago, and the consultant who comes in once a month was beyond impressed with her developement.

that's awesome! jade loves those peg puzzles too!
shining moment was a week ago, playing with daddy and the conversation went as such:
'daddy get duh (the) ball'
'no daddy's tired'
'daddy? monkey get duh (the) ball?'
'yes monkey can get the ball'
hands daddy the monkey
'here daddy. you do monkey. get duh (the) ball'

seriously, this was her first sentences we call them 3-4 words since there is a bit of pause between each! we were in shock and trying soooo hard no to laugh at the comprehension! can't wait for this to happen again, mostly this was a one time incident but it's a neat foreshadow!

That's awesome Mara! Annabelle's favorite sentence right now is I go out! Usually said while she throws your jacket and shoes at you.

I am so proud of all of our babies!! They are getting so big. Good work, Mommas!!

Maia is very good with her letters. She can name so many of them on sight. I love to hear her say P, Q and K the most, but especially Q. LOL

I can't even believe how behind my babes are! Spark's still ahead of Silas, but puzzles? Nope. Sentences? Nope. She's still on one word phrases like "guh" is her duck she carries around everywhere. "Gn?" is drink, lol and she signs it too.

My proud mommy moment was a couple weeks ago when I FINALLY got a response from Silas! I pointed to a kitty and said "What's this?" and he said "at! at!" while moving his finger away from his mouth in an attempt at the sign. I was so happy to have SOME kind of learning interaction with him! (For those who don't know, we are suspecting autism with him. So any kind of interaction is amazing!)

But here is our new learning wall. I'm hoping this will help them along more! They just don't have the patience for learning... but I try to go over something with them every day.

Nathan said "I love you" tonight! Smile

My not so proud mommy moment of the day. I had just killed a huge spider and left it there (outside). Well, about 2 seconds later, Nathan threw a fake spider at me. I about lost it. I hate spiders!

Kim, I love the learning wall!!! The babies look like they are loving it! And I hear you on speaking sentences. Maia has only ever said one sentence, which is "Bye, So-and-So" (So-and-So being anyone from me to her favorite cartoon, 'Olivia'. LOL) She says a lot of words but isn't really making sentences yet.

Closest thing to a sentence that Nathan has said is "All Gone Nana (banana)". No worries yet!

Don't get discouraged! My first two weren't doing any of these things at this age. As a matter of fact Jack really only started putting sentences together in the last 8mths and he's 3yrs 7mths.

Alison's big thing right now is colors! She will hand you a crayon "that blue, that purple, etc". I was shocked that she knew so many of her colors!

i love hearing where all the kids are right now, really proves that each grows at their own pace in their own way!
lol this is silly but our big accomplishments lately are eating with a spoon and getting most of the sloppy into her mouth (pees, soup) and all of the not so sloppy (oatmeal) in. and sliding backwards down the slide on her tush without help at the bottom! one more thing she'll do and give mommy a break ('couch momma' and away she goes!)
