Well - after my last mega drama thread, I thought I'd let you all know what's been going on with me.
After much deliberation, I called the *big* hospital that's 1.5 hours away, and made a vbac consult appointment with them. I had my regular OB appt yesterday. My uterus is measuring between 40 and 41 weeks HAHAHAHA! and my BP, urine, etc all looks pristine. Funny how they are consistently shocked that my BP isn't crazy, although I am overweight. Perhaps their BMI measurements are not accurate predictors for me (I'm the first to admit I'm not skinny either), and they could lay off that drama llama just a bit? LOL
Then I had the consult with the other facility today. After evaluating all the factors, they want to order another ultrasound (oh bummer. haha!) and most likely will at least allow for a trial of labor.
I was really up-front with them, that I've done PLENTY of research, I'm not one to be scared into things, and I would REALLY like to *at least* have a trial of labor since I've never been through the whole process... but we can all agree that baby's life is the most important.
At least this hospital knows their stuff, and they can handle absolutely anything. Since it's a VERY advanced research and educational facility (one of the best in the nation), and extremely well-respected, I trust them. So... Now I will be seen at the new hospital. This doc is convinced that my body was obviously not ready with my failed induction at 38 weeks (as other docs have refused to admit), and that while there are some obvious risk factors, it's worth a shot. His attending agreed, and is VERY pro-vbac, as long as risks are within boundaries.
Anyway, I wanted to say thank you to everyone that was encouraging. I think this will be the best thing for me, no matter what. Even if I end up with a surgical outcome, at least I know I took it as far as I could this time around. Now that I'm almost at term, we REALLY need to get the car seat installed, finish cleaning the apartment, organize baby supplies on his shelf, and take a NAP!
