Does anyone else already have a baby list planned out or started?
As in.. what you need/want for the new baby!
I know a lot of us are BDTD and have stuff already, but I feel that makes me planning extra hard this time!
Just been thinking about all the things I really needed and MUST have again with DS (Like the swaddle blankets and all matching socks.. haha!!) and things that I didn't even need (like I never used the sling, or the wipe warmer... or really even the changing table..)
To the things that I didnt have but really want this time (like the glider, the side to side swing...)
Also, Feel like I'll be a lot smarter this time and buy used things or things off craigslist/go to BRU only with coupons and not waste as much money as I did last time.. I also bought WAAAY too much decor in a certain theme that was kind of pointless and a biggg waste of money because it doesnt really match toddlerhood..
Oh and the diaper stacker was kinda pointless for us as well.
Im also going to TRY to not buy so many clothes, well especially if it's a boy!! And start stocking up on diapers early!
Whats on your guys lists?!
It's not so much I didnt like baby wearing him, its more... i bougght the sling kind, and he just... didnt like it.. and it didnt feel ..right... but I did enjoy the kind that is tight to the chest with little leg holes, i think i'll upgrade to a more sturdy version like the kind i have at work, but the sack-like front thing... Idk about that...
I had a pouch sling with DD and we both hated the thing. I have an Ergo carrier now, so I plan to get the newborn insert for that. I look forward to wearing my tiny baby while chasing my DD around! LOL!
As far as a baby list, nope, definitely haven't gotten that far! We have tons of junk left over from DD, so we will have to dig it all out and see what we have that's still usable. That'll be a good winter project.
I have no list!!
DH and I just cleand out the attic of all our DD's things from baby-hood to now. Can I say OMG, I didn't even realize how much STUFF she has had over her short little life! I think I'm pretty set on most things...as long as this one is a girl. I kind of went overboard on buying everything pink and purple. Thankfully we have a cousin who's having a little girl in November, so all of our cute girly stuff will get good use if we can't.
Things I feel like were a waste the first time? Slings and carriers. I felt so uncomfortable when Ry was little. I tried them and wanted to love them, but I just couldn't get the hang of it. All the cutsie burp cloths...Only used the white gerber prefold diapers for everything. I'm sure there's other stuff, but it's been such a long time since I did the whole baby thing, I just can't remember.
Stuff I LOVED. Our swing that turned into a bouncy seat. That bouncy seat was a LIFE SAVER the first 3 months. After my maternity leave I worked from home and that thing was the only way I could get work done. I'd put her in it and bounce it with my foot while I sat at my desk working. Also, those waterproof pads over the diaper changing station saved on A LOT of laundry....well, saved on us having to wash the same 2 covers over and over and over.

What do you think....
Turn DS Convertable crib into a full sized bed, and get a new crib for a baby...
OR buy him a twin/new bed and use his crib for baby?
I was leaning on reusing his crib, but he chewed up the sides, which would be gone if it was converted and look like a new, full sized bed... and buying a new crib....
BUT... I feel little kids shoulds should be in twin sized beds and not full.. But I guess that would defeat the purpose of buying a convertable crib in the first place...
What'd you guys do? Or plan?
Right now both our boys are in cribs (they are 27 & 11 months old.) When we get pg again we will be putting DS1 in a twin bed and reusing his crib for baby #3.
Cait, I think it depends on what is more comfortable for Brody. For example, Evie has always hated her toddler bed ever since it was converted from her crib. So if we ever get pg, Evie will probably get a twin (or maybe just move bedrooms into the queen bed) and reuse the crib.
If Brody still prefers his toddler bed, then by all means, let him keep it and buy a new crib.
With regards to carriers, I tried out all the carriers that were available, and eventually got myself a BabyHawk mei tai, which I love. Evie loved being carried in that too. We had to stop at 18 mths b/c she got really tall and would potentially tip out of the BabyHawk (I think she was 2'9" by then...??). That, and once she started walking at 14.5 mths, she was not interested in being carried much, so a stroller was more convenient.
I won't be making a baby list b/c we already have everything we need for a baby, we have kept most of the stuff so far. Even if it was a boy, we can wait until after he is born to get stuff for him. I found newborn babies really did not need a lot other than diapers, onesies, swaddle blankets, and formula (if I have to supplement again) and "seasonal" stuff (you know, snowsuit or bunting bag, gloves, hats in winter).
As much as I love shopping....shopping for a baby seems very overwhelming! I don't have a mom to teach me these things! I'll have to rely on my MIL and you guys!
