BC

Okay what BC should I switch to?

I was on the mini pill and it turns out I'm one of those very small percentages that it effects the milk supply (how do I know? When I was on it I could barely pump 2 oz every few hours...this morning, after nursing Desmond, I pumped out 6oz!!!)(So that explains why he's been camping out at night lol)

I don't want to do the shot (sorry, but I'm not crazy enough for shots to want to get one every so often for BC lol).

And I heard bad things about the implant (month long periods!!!)

Is there any other BC I can take while nursing? At Naval they won't snip DH and they won't do anything permanent for me either (although I still haven't decided if I'm done with kids lol, even though DH says he is).

I just don't want my milk supply to drop so much like it did last time. And I don't think DH wants to leave it to EBF for a safe BC method. And he doesn't like condoms and I don't like the smell of them (lol).

What is there left, other than never having sex again lol?

I got the Mirena implant. It's non hormonal and it lasts for five years. It's implanted into the cervix. With this implant, your periods will decrease over time and can even go away. It does hurt when they put it in unfortunately. I had some uncomfortability with sex for about a month but now it's totally fine.

Good luck finding a new BC!

I'd use a copper iud - no hormones, it won't mess up your milk supply

I really liked the Nuvaring. It is hormonal, but minimal amounts of hormones are required, since it is delivered directly to the cervix and doesn't have to go through the bloodstream. You only have to remember it once a month. I produced more milk when using it after my girls than I am now, after having my tubes tied. The biggest drawback I noticed was the "bottle ring-toss" that BD became... lol
