    Default Cause for concern?

I know this is going to sound like a really nice problem to have, but I am concerned. I haven't gained a single ounce in 4 weeks.

At my 25 week appointment I had gained 7 lbs the prior month, and then after that I was up a pound or two, but as soon as I got my gestational diabetes diagnosis I changed my diet drastically, lost those couple pounds and now I cannot put weight on. I'm eating 6 times a day so I am sure baby is probably getting what it needs, and my growth was fine at my appointment last week, but should I be concerned?

I wasn't underweight to begin with, and I've gained 18 pounds total (thanks 2nd trimester) but all I ever hear is "a pound a week in the 3rd tri" and I'm nowhere near that.

Would you all be concerned? My next appt is on the 14th so I'm sure I'll hear about it if my doctor is...

No, I wouldn't be concerned at all. As long as you're eating as you should, that's good. Since you had to change your diet and can't have those normal pregnancy free for alls, then you're just not putting on the weight like 'normal'. I gained a half pound in 3.5 weeks, and my doc wasn't concerned at all when I went to my appointment yesterday. I'd say if you start to drastically loose weight, that's going to be a cause for concern. But right now, I wouldn't worry about. Consider yourself lucky as that's less you have to loose

I agree. I wouldn't be concerned, but definitely let that be a topic that comes up at your next appt. I would say it's probably because of the diet change, and as long as you are eating what you should be, I wouldn't worry about baby. And yes, like Jennifer said, consider yourself lucky!!! I was only gaining a pound here a pound there...at 25ish weeks I had only gained about 5 pounds. Went back at 29 weeks and I gained 7 pounds in 4 weeks!!!! EEEEEEEK! Since I'm overweight to begin with, I'm hoping to stay under a 15 lb total weight gain, and I'm not doing so well with that now am I!

I wouldn't be concerned either. Your LO is growing still and since you did change your diet that's probably why you haven't gained anything else. As long as your LO is still moving around and you're able to keep food and fluids down I wouldn't worry. You have gained weight in this pregnancy and I've read that the whole "pound a week" thing is really an average after pregnancy is over as to how much weight you gained in all.

If your dr is concerned they'll let you know. I would just try not to worry about it and as PP said, less weight you have to lose once you have your baby!

I wouldn't worry about it either. My weight gain has really slowed the last month or so too -- but I'm eating enough, baby is moving and growing enough, and I've gained plenty of weight at this point anyway. Let your body do what it needs to do!

I wouldn't be concerned either, since you changed your diet, probably to avoid carbs/sugars your body is taking the nutrition it needs without packing on the extra pounds - so as you lose fat the baby gains nutrition. Sounds like a normal healthy trade off!

I was worried that I wasn't gaining enough too, since I had only gained like 10lbs, now I am freaking that I'm going to put on too much weight cause it caught up and I'm up about 15lbs since I got pregnant LOL That means I gained 5lbs in the last 3 weeks or so.

I wouldn't worry either. Like the others said, your change of diet for GD is likely the cause but it sounds like you are providing your LO with lots of nourishment.

I only gained maybe 10lbs with my first and nothing with my 2nd (was down 25lbs after delivery of a 9lb-er). Both times my MW's didn't worry. I don't know whats up this time cause I'm already up nearly 20lbs.

As long as you are getting good foods and aren't hungry, no worries. I ended up with a 0 gain with my first, which I attribute to the GD diet I was on then. Since being back on the diet this time, I haven't gained an ounce.
