Contractions..... Pressure... Bloody Show??????

Ok so I have mentioned more then once that I have been induced both of my other pregnancies so I have never actually went into labor or even started to on my own. Well something just doesn't feel right. I have been having contractions like real ones every 8-10 mins since yesterday around noon, TMI I know but I had a big mucas blood tinged glob of goop last night, these are real contractions and very noticeable. My next apt is over a week away, I don't feel like I need to go to L&D but wondering if I should call my ob tomorrow and try to get an apt.

BTW: I am not dehydrated, have tried resting, moving, just about everything and they continue to come just like clock work.

Wow good thing we're birth buddies! I just went to L&D this morning for the exact same thing!

If you've dilated any then that could be the reason for the bloody show. And the contractions you'll want to watch and time to see if they get closer together and stuff. Have you had any possible leaking?

When I went in they checked me and just said I dilated a little more and that was the reasoning for a bunch more discharge and the bloody show.

It never hurts to get checked out, esp since you're only about 34 weeks and it's your 3rd baby. The dr kept telling me 3rd babies can be pesky and unpredictable lol.

Also they had me hooked up to the machine to track his heart rate and contractions and they were like "You know you're having a lot of contractions right?" Lol. They also said I know my body better than anyone and if I don't believe I need to be admitted than I shouldn't come, but if there's any uncertainty than to go in.

Since this is your 3rd than I think you should listen to your body and if you think there may be a chance of preterm labor to get checked out. Biggrin

I think you should get to L&D and get checked out. It wont hurt to do that and since you are only 33 weeks they can help you try to stop the contractions if this is the real deal. I bet if you call your OB tomorrow, they'll suggest you go to L&D (at least I know they would tell me that here). And if they need to give you the steroids to help lung development for your baby they can do that too.

KUP! :goodluck: I really hope you get to make that little guy a few more weeks!

I just hate going to L&D and then it turns out to nothing. I will call my ob and see what they say Smile TY Gals.

Katie take it easy, I know trying to unpack and get things in order doesn't help!

I hate that too. I called first and when they heard it was my 3rd was why they wanted me to come get checked out just in case.

And DH said if I have him today/tonight it's because I didn't listen and moved stuff yesterday (getting the girls' rooms in order) lol. But In good news I did get 5 or 6 meals made and frozen!

I made Tater tot casserole, Shepard's Pie, Goulash (doubled the recipe for two meals worth), Sausage and bean casserole, and pizza casserole (which my kids LOVE!)

I may make chicken pot pie tonight and Broccoli and Chicken casserole but it depends on how tired I am after unpacking some more.

either call your ob if they have a 24/7 number or call L&D. If they tell you to go in then you dont have to feel bad about it being nothing.
and kup Smile

I would get the contractions checked out if they keep coming like that. You could loose plug because of change in your cervix due to the contractions. I hate going into L&D too but if they kept coming it would be better to get them checkout out than have LO arrive too soon.

I'm a bit late replying, considering you've probably already determined what to do.. but I would also call L&D or the on-call # for the doc. They can have you go in to triage and just sit there for 20 minutes to check your cervix & monitor contractions... if they consider it necessary. Mine said not to worry to much if it's more than 5-6 minutes apart, and if I am able to talk through contractions... but that is pretty consistent too..
