Cramping

So in the past couple of hours I've gone from having a lot of Braxton hicks, almost back to back, and now I've started cramping. I've had a few crampy contractions but I'm also just having a lot of lower back cramping and some lower abdomen cramping. It's not bad, but it doesn't feel good. This is the first I've experienced any of this. What exactly is all the crampiness for?

In my experience, the cramping has come with cervical change. Are you having any extra mucus or anything like that?

I haven't had any mucous yet, a little more milky discharge in the past week. Everytime I get a contraction and I'm not laying down, I get the immediate urge to pee, even though it may not be a whole lot that needs to come out.

I would agree...hopefully all that cramping is causing some changes for you Smile

Yep, sounds like some changes taking place in there. Try to relax and let your body do its thing. Maybe things are just gearing up or maybe it will turn into something more. You could try going down on your knees and elbows and just let your tummy hang. That will help ease some of the back cramping. Also a heading pad on your back might feel good as well.

cramping (period cramping) can be a sign of labour. I had what I thought was period cramps the morning I went into labour with ds. This time I started having cramps weeks ago which freaked me out. Midwife said it's signs body is getting ready but unless I had other issues not to worry.
