Hugs... it's scary isn't it? Good that you have a dr. appointment this afternoon so you don't have to worry for too long. Cramping and spotting don't always mean bad news... hang in there and KUP!

All I can say is try and prepare yourself mentally for any outcome. I have BTDT and because I have, I always prepare for the worst....because if it is good news then it is just a nice surprise. Will be thinking of you!!!

Yea I am worried... Something about this pg from the beginning just didn't feel right. I hope it is all in my head but... I just can't wait to go to the Doctor. With me not even being 5 weeks can they tell if anything is wrong since there isn't a heartbeat yet anyway?

I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Cramping and spotting is pretty common in 1st trimester. I'm having really painful cramps as well. Sending lots of T&Ps your way and please KUP! :bigarmhug:

It could still be really early to see a heartbeat....maybe they will draw #'s? Regardless, I'll be thinking of you and hoping for the best!! I have BTDT and it can be scary, KUP and I hope you get the answers you are looking for at the Dr's today. HUGS!

This early an u/s won't be 'too' helpful I wouldn't think - but an internal exam can show if your cervix is open or closed at least.

hugs... hang in there... I've BTDT as well...

I agree with the pp- it doesn't always mean something bad. Sometimes those things just happen (it did for me with my first son). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I had some cramping and spotting over the weekend also...unnerving, but the nurse today said it is completely normal since I'm still shy of 5 weeks and is time for implantation. Good luck today at your appointment...hope all is well with you and the bean!

T & P coming your way. I have BTDT as well, so all you can do is prepare yourself for either outcome as previous poster suggested. With my son I had bright red bleeding with clots and everything at 16 weeks & it ended up bring a subchorionic hemorrhage. It was scary, but things ended up fine. I will be thinking of you & praying everything goes well at your appt.

I had spotting and really bad cramping at just under 5 1/2 weeks and I was worried because the cramps were horrible. However, I checked out okay. They did an exam to make sure my cervix was closed.

My dr also said some of the cramps could be from constipation. Esp if you're already on prenatals. My dr prescribed me mirilax (sp?) to help.

I'm glad you have an appt today so you might be able to find things out from your dr. Good luck and let us know how you are!

I have a UTI/ kidney or bladder infection he didn't really look that far into it and just put me on antibiotics. They also drew blood and will be checking for HCG levels today and Wednesday. He said everything looks fine right now though. Sooo... I will wait and see.

That could definitely be the cause of your cramping/spotting. I hope your hcg results come back good so that you can have some reassurance. Hopefully the antibiotics kick in quickly for you.

So sorry about the scare! I'm glad that the baby is ok. UTI's are no fun, I had one when I was pregnant with #1, also at about 5 weeks, and I had heavy bleeding at the same time, period like, I was even told I was miscarrying! The bleeding was scary but it all turned out fine, I turned out I had a subchorionic hemathoma at the same time as the UTI.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

So I had my second blood draw today... now to wait 24 hrs for the results Sad my first HCG Level was 468??? Is that good or bad? I have never had a HCG drawn before so I really have no clue.
