discharge? (TMI?)

Hi girls! I love that we are all finally rounding the corner to 3rd trimester -- April will be here before we know it!! :o

Anyway, I have (and have had) a ton of discharge. Sometimes I worry that maybe I'm leaking fluid, but it doesn't seem watery -- just like how they describe it in the books. (Thin and "milky", according to one.) It's so annoying b/c a part of me continues to panic that I've suddenly started bleeding or something. Is anyone else dealing with this? Is it ... normal to have SO MUCH discharge??

Since this pregnancy I've had a lot of discharge with this pregnancy. Sometimes it's thicker and comes out more. I'm always checking it to make sure it looks normal. When they had me get checked out at L&D I asked the dr there because a lot came out when she checked me and she said it was most likely just pieces of my mucus plug coming out which is normal. So it could just be parts of your mucus plug or it could just be increase in discharge, which does happen in pregnancy (ha I've asked my OB just to be sure!)

Don't you love the icky parts of pregnancy? Lol.

Yes it's normal to have that much discharge. I'm having the exact same thing going on and I asked my OB about at my appointment last Thursday. He checked to make sure I wasn't leaking fluid and I'm not. It wouldn't hurt to mention it to your OB/MW and have them check it just in case, but extra discharge is completely normal. My OB said it's even normal for some women to need to wear a liner or pad.

Ugh- yes. Very normal. I've been wearing pantiliners for a couple weeks for this very reason. It is FOUL. Sooooo much discharge-- I hate it!! It comes and goes though-- I'll have a day or two with a very minimal amount, and then it's like Niagra Falls the next day. Super disgusting, but normal! I had it just the same way with my first pregnancy.

I know, it's so gross. It doesn't seem like it's really mucusy, either, so I doubt it's part of my plug or anything -- it's just gross. Ick!!!! Glad I'm not alone! Smile

You're not alone, for sure. I'm definitely changing my undergarments twice as often now, just because I am not a fan of the slightest issues going on!
