I had a small one after giving birth, but it must have gone away shortly afterward because multiple nurses said it wasn't there. Well, this morning I had to poop and afterward I had a pretty bad one come out. What do I do? I should have called my doc, but it's too late to now. I've done a bit of research on the internet, but wondered if any of you had any advice for me. I can handle the stitches, but this thing is uncomfortable!
Witch Hazel! Tucks pads have it or you can buy it in a bottle like the one rubbing alcohol comes in and apply it with a cotton ball. I have already been using them and have had others swear by it. Witch hazel is also good for helping your stitches heal too!
I had one going into labor. After I had Desmond it was real hard instead of sort of squish and I had another small one with it as well. They gave me Witch Hazel wipes that I can wipe with and they suggested putting some on top of the pad to help as well. They also gave me an ointment and some spray stuff that's suppose to help numb it if it starts hurting. I also use Prep H wipes after wiping, then apply the other stuff.
Mine has mostly gone away now. Ever since I had DD2 2 1/2 years ago I've gotten real bad hemorrhoids almost every time I go to the bathroom (but they clear up in a day). I remember how horrible I had them after DD2 though as to where they were bleeding (it also didn't help to be real constipated after delivery).
hope yours clears up soon.

Wow, didn't realize how common these things were. I can't imagine having them on an ongoing basis.
Had DH get me some Tucks pads. Do you just wipe with them or leave them on?
Yep use those tucks. I think the packaging says only 4 times per day but I'd use them as often as you want until it starts feeling better. Also a good idea to add some prunes or prune juice to your diet for a few days to ensure that everything comes out pretty soft and doesn't bother them any extra.
