Well, turns out the reason I have been so sick the past 48 hours was because I was developing hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of nausea that is only seen in about 0.5-2% of pregnant woman. Early this morning, (after throwing up every hour that I was awake since Thursday morning) I started throwing up whatever water I was able to get down, and then I threw up a little bit of blood, that was about my breaking point. So we made the 30 minute drive to the hospital and they admitted me and started me on an IV drip. After an hour of being pumped full of fluids and some Zofran, I felt much better. The on call Dr. wrote me a prescription for more Zofran ( I had run out of my previous prescription for it on Tuesday), so I've really got to make this prescription last, and hope that my morning sickness will end very soon.
On the only bright note, I got to hear the baby's heartbeat while I was at the hospital. The nurse had a hard time finding it at first, but then she realized that the 128 bpm that she was finding was definitely not my heart beat, since it was at 60, so we decided that that was the baby's lol.
Oh, and to top it off, I've got a stupid UTI, just another prescription I have to take.
Who knew that pregnancy could be so trying.. lol
Anywho, here's to a better rest of the weekend!
Wow! That's all I've got. I'm so sorry. I hope you feel better soon.
Oh no, that sounds horrible. I'm glad they were able to give you something that made you feel better. I hope your morning sickness goes away soon and doesn't come back as serious again.
