Default I made a ring sling!

I plan to do more baby wearing this time around since I will have a toddler and little bitty. So, I made my own ring sling today! I tested it out with DD.

It's actually 100% cotton. I buy bed sheets at places like ROSS and use them as my fabric, since it's usually cheaper than buying the fabric for it! Here is the link to the tutorial I used.

DD looks like she's having a blast!

How cool that you made one yourself! It looks awesome!

I had one for my daughter and found it so awkward and bulky, but it looks so easy and comfortable for you and your daughter. I think I'm going to have to try it again with this new one!

I'm really not great at it yet. She needs to be a bit higher up because right there it puts pressure on my back and it made my back sore. It takes practice, which I need more of. I am lucky because there are a couple of fanatic baby wearers on my DD's board and one in particular is really crazy about baby wearing and has been a huge help for me. You can also check out babywearer.com. We have a baby wearing board here, but unfortunately it's not very active right now. Anyway I definitely think you should give it another shot.

    I love it, so pretty!
My ring sling is pretty much the only way I can wear DS right now with the expanding bump. Totally practice and it will get way easier. Plus once you find a good position for DD to be in you can leave your sling adjusted almost exactly at that setting/position so that its easy to grab and go and cozy on your back. I have to flare the material a lot in the back, and over my shoulder cap, when I wear for extend periods of time.

I also LOVE buying sheet sets and using them as material. They also work great as thin blanket insulation. Goodwill also sometimes sells sets that are still in the packaging. Cotton sheet material (especially flannel) is my favorite! I love the mei tai that I got a pattern for. For some reason the ring slings always scare me, that they are going to slip.
