Infant Massage

Anyone planning on implementing infant massage routines with their newborns??? Since having my son, and as part of my Child Life internship, I became certified to teach Infant Massage. I haven't really taught any classes yet, but I'm more excited that I get to implement the massage routines on my newborn little girl when she gets here! There are so many benefits including bonding, sleep habits, and overall baby disposition (and more!)Anyone planning on taking any classes????

Huh, I had never heard of that before. I know on the base they offer different mommy and me classes, but I don't think I'll do any of them. I have the two kids at home and DH only gets 10 days off during their buildup for deployment (if he doesn't go as a combat replacement at the beginning of the year). With buildups he will be gone for weeks at a time (gah!) so I'll have all the kids by myself ha ha.

I also don't like leaving my kids with other people other than my family. I guess because I know DD2 is still attached to me and I know when I leave her she cries which I hate.

But it sounds fun!

I did an infant massage class with my daughter. I enjoyed the bonding time with her, but she was a bit older maybe 6 months and didn't like staying still at all, she was very squirmy!! I think I would like to do it again with this little one but starting earlier.

That's fun that you are certified so you will know exactly what you are doing!! I will just be trying to remember back 5 years, but I think just the skin-to-skin contact and direct attention will still be great.

I have never actually taken a class but I did alot of research online. I have rubbed both babies down before bed every single day with aveno they seemed to really enjoy it.
