So the last few nights i have been waking up overnight with severe itch attacks of my feet! It horrible and i just wanted to cry from being so tired and not being able to resolve it. I posted a thing on FB and a friend responded informed me that i should tell my dr right away! Does anyone have this porblem or have had this problem???
I had that with my first pregnancy. I was terrified it would happen again this time, but lucked out. Mine would last for hours and the itching would be insane. I would cry. I just wanted to cut my feet off. Mine kept on for about a month and I would soak them in water and then put a really thick layer of lotion on them, it wasn't instant but it made it seem like it would go away faster. I told my OB about it and he was completely unconcerned. Apparently, it's just something that happens sometimes because of all the raging pg hormones.
I hope that your itchy feet stop soon!
Oh my gosh, I feel so bad for you! I had this with my first pregnancy and I literally would scratch my self open to where I was bleeding. I'd use anything to scratch with, hair brushes were my favorite tool to use!
It's called PUP, and it is HORRIBLE. The only solution is Benadryl and that will give you some relief, but it will also cause you serious drowsiness. Mine was on the back of my calves and then my belly. Oh, I remember the horror.
Defintely talk to your doctor about it before taking anything.
If I get itchy it usually is on my calves and shins. I would find myself rubbing my legs against my husband at night and him going "Quit scratching" lol like that would help!
I agree with soaking in warm water and trying lotion. I'm really hoping it doesn't spread to my feet because I've been getting itchy every night.
GL and I hope it stops soon so you can get some sleep!!!

I had all over body itch during my first pregnancy, it had to do with the blood volume changing in my body and it just made me very itchy everywhere and OMG I was scratching the skin off in some places. Since it's just your feet, I'd worry even less, especially because it's happening at night where you're finally putting your feet up -- I think it's good to mention it to the OB, but I would try not to worry too much, itching is common in pregnancy. I hope it goes away soon!
Better Safe than sorry i just wanted to let them know!

I'd be more worried about cholestasis because of the specific location of your itching (which CAN be extremely dangerous):The eruptions usually show up first on the abdomen around or in stretch marks (if you have any) and may spread to your thighs, buttocks, and arms.
Cholestatis can be mis-diagnosed and is accurately diagnosed through a blood test.-Itching, particularly on the hands and feet (often is the only symptom noticed)
-Dark urine color
-Light coloring of bowel movements
-Fatigue or exhaustion
-Loss of appetite
I agree better to be safe than sorry. I don't mean to scare you. I would ask your doctor about it specifically. We had a mom on my last BB (Sept 2010) that had it and she had to be induced quite early in the pregnancy for the safety of her and her baby.
