moby?

Anyone using a Toby and how does your LO like it?

I just bought a Toby and Python loves it but he is to big to nurse in the newborn hold... It stinks.

I have a K'Tan and I love it. So does Desmond. I haven't tried nursing in it though, but I usually just wear him around the house when he's in the mood to always be held. Desmond just likes to be where he can see. Although when I first used the K'tan I didn't have him in right and he squished my boob so I leaked all over him lol. Poor kid!

I don't have any wraps, but would like to maybe try one. Not in the budget though. I have been using a ring sling and a mai tai so far, but haven't nursed in either one yet. I attempted it in the ring sling, but couldn't get it worked out and I think I'm going to wait until he has more head control and is a little more sturdy.

Kelly, if you are interested in babywearing, there's a great group of very experienced and passionate baby-wearers on the baby-wearing board! Smile

There have been days recently where Ella has spent hours in the moby. Upright against my chest With her legs froggied up It's the only thing that will stop the screaming! And the only way I can get anything done around the house. We also toured Ikea with the moby today! Lol. It's WAY too hot though, so I'm in the market for something else... Maybe a ring sling. And I plan to make a Mei tai at some point.

My friend made me a wrap with Olivia and I loved it, and passed it on to another family member. So I picked out fabric to make a wrap for myself and another new mom friend. If you watch for sales on gauze and use a coupon at JoAnn's, you can make two wraps for less than $20.

I haven't nursed in it yet, because I'm still a little anxious about her air supply while eating in it. Maybe when she has more head control. I did nurse Olivia before, and I remember one time when I wasn't wearing breast pads, I was walking around, leaking on the other side. Oops!!! We have a ring sling too, and the wrap is more comfortable, but a little more hassle to get it on. ALso, I realized I've never had a newborn during the summer in Phoenix. Ick!

HEre is a pic of my DIY wrap that I'm using with Maddie. I accidently had one side twisted in the picture, but I really like the fabric. It's a light seersucker type because they were out of long pieces of gauze.

We have one and really like it! There's been a bit of a learning curve when it comes to getting him settled in it (I'm not very good at doing it on my own) but he's taken several naps in it. I don't think I'll try nursing in it though.

TO the non-sewers--I have a friend who made hers out of swimsuit material because it doesn't unravel...

ALso, I didn't sew it, I asked my mommy to sew it for me. Lol All you have to do is sew straight lines and mark the center (I got a coordinating iron-on).

They are very easy to make, I have made one and also have bought one. Love it but we do not nurse in it. Emma will use it this weekend for the first time, hopefully she likes it because we are going to a marriage conference and I need her to be happy.

Just got my wrap about an hour ago. Tyler is in it and he fell asleep within 5 minutes! It's so nice to be able to walk around and have both hands free. Wish I had gotten one sooner.

Don't know how I'll feel about nursing in it. I've watched a few videos, but I'm not confident with that one yet Wink

We have the Ktan too and both I and Heidi love it!! We've used it around the house, but I've also used it for hiking a bunch of times. It is great because when we were down by the ocean it kept her warm, and then when we were going up a small "mountain", I could easily keep an eye on her and know that she wasn't too hot (I was sweating!!) I've only ever had a backpack and I am definitely a convert to the Ktan. I did try nursing in it, mostly because we were out on a trail and I didn't want to take it off to nurse her while my other guys were having a water break just to save time, but it was awkward but I think I didn't have the most convenient clothing on underneath... Ah well, as every one else has said it is just great to have hands free while at the same time having a happy baby!
