Names yet?

Anyone thinking about names yet?

BTDT- Does your name choice tend to change after you get pregnant?

I feel that before I was pregnant with DS I had it all planned out, and the final choices were nowhere NEAR what I had thougth they'd be!!

So now I have another list going, which are none of the names I even had thought of with Brody.

Who gets to "pick" Or do you agree/compromise? Do you guys usually have similar tastes?!

Me and Kevin are complete opposites... For a girl he suggested Ashley the other day... No offense to any Ashleys, but there are a million Ashleys! I told him I had just spray tanned three ashleys that day at work. haha!!

I prefer more uncommon names that aren't too far out.. (apparently Brody is more popular then I thought, but at the time I didn't know any, or knew anyone that had one!)

Plus, after Brody was born .. months later.. he mentioned he didnt even really like that name and that he just agreed on it so we wouldnt have to argue.. and in my memory I remember suggesting it and he seemed like he really liked it so I was like "okay were set!!" and we never questioned it again, and we just couldnt agree on a girl but we ended up not needing it!!

Sooo.. I kinda decided.. well fine.. the next one I'll name what I want!!!

I have a boy name pretty much set... and out of the 20 names I gave him (haha) he ended up saying ONE was okay.. and it was my #1 choice... and I figured he could have the middle name, Joseph, after his dad, even though Im not a fan... of the name or his dad... but I can cope! :):)

Were lost for a girl.. butttt I really am 100% sure we wont have a girl.

Yes.

Boy - Stanley, this name was picked previously when pg with DD.

Girl - Aurora or Georgia.

I might just check to see that the names aren't too popular (we like names that are not common but are not thoroughly unique) otherwise these are the likely name choices. We don't want to waste time trying to find names again and while I don't mind letting you ladies know, h3ll will freeze over before I'll be telling anyone in either side of the family any names!

Middle names will decided later, probably by my mom for an appropriate chinese name that ideally is close to an Anglicized name so that it's more simple for the kid. For us too.

I haven't thought too much about names this time yet (lol, it's only been a few days!) but here are some of the ones I really liked from last time around... like five seconds ago Smile

Boy:
Alex
Cristian

Girl:
Aubriana (Brie) Grace
Ava Grace

BTW, I am REALLY not wanting to have three kids names that start with A (and my husband's too!!!) but we keep falling for these A names! It's ridiculous.

We usually agree together. I come up with the names and he says yes or no. Our DDs name we had for both kids and so she got it. We already have our boy name which DH came up with- Emmerson Paul. No ideas foe a girl yet and in our case that most likely means we are having a boy because the last 2 times it was easy to pick out a name for the gender we had and the opposite gender was hard. I really have no girl names at the moment.

I have a girl name, which means I'll be having a boy Wink

NO idea on boy names. I had the boy name all planned out before we found out DD was a girl. Then we had to come up with something. Now I'm not fond of the boy name I origianlly picked out.

We are thinking Colin John or John Colin for a boy--named after a cousin of mine that passed away.

For girls, we have no idea! Our previous girl name was Gwen, but I wrote a novel and named the main character Gwen...and she drinks a lot, makes poor life choices, etc. So there's no way I can use the Gwen name for the girl anymore.

I suppose when we actually have one on the way this topic will get more discussion, but I also think Tim will probably agree to whatever names I pick out. He's easygoing like that. So....

Girls: (I'm more flexible with middle names and like Grace a lot which is my Grandma's name as well).

1. Alexandra
2. Evelyn
3. Phoebe
4. Caroline
5. Eva (After my great-grandmother)

Boys:

1. Micah
2. Caleb
3. Noah
4. Adam

Cait, we're like you guys, we do not agree. Naming the boys has been like pulling teeth! When I was pg with DS1 I really wanted Isaac but DH hated it. I prefer names like you and Sophia, something not super common but also not crazy out there. DH likes super common names, Matthew, Daniel and Jennifer, etc (not that those are bad names, they just aren't my taste.) Mason was pretty much the only name we both at least liked, neither of us were in love with it, but it would do lol. When I was pg with DS2 and we found out it was another boy, DH knew I was a bit disappointed because I really really wanted a girl, so he agreed that we could use Isaac this time around. At first I told him I didn't want to use a name he hated, but delivery day came and we hadn't made any progress at all on any other names, so Isaac it was. If we have a third boy I honestly have no clue what we will do! If we have a girl next I'm not 100% on the name, I do know Deanna will be in there for my grandmother who died when I was a teenager, but I'm not sure if I like it enough for it to be the first name. I find I change my mind a lot more with girls names, just because there are so many more girls names that I like than boys names.

I realllly really want:
Boy: Declan.
I think a lot of people think it's "weird" if they haven't heard it, but I heard it once on a TV show when I was younger and have loved it ever since.. a little disapointed because a movie that came out recently had that as one of the main characters (The switch, with Jennifer aniston) so I always hope it doesnt "catch on" with others too much.

Kevin HATED it when I was pregnant with Brody.. but due to the fact he LOVES the show Dexter and always says we can name our future DS Dexter, I said Declan is similar... and he could call him Dec or... whatever..

PLUS he could Have "Joseph" as middle name after his father... good compromise right??

I also like Reid, and... um.... I kind of like Blake for a girl or boy..

I love Claire and Scarlette and Emery for a girl... He doesnt like any... I also like Kenleigh or Kinley or something... but again.. no go.. however, I really dont think we'll have a girl.. ever... so I wont really think about that too much until it happens.

If we get preggo with a boy he will be George Patrick after DH's grandpa. I think I will call him Patrick.

If we get preggo with a girl the fight is on. I want Hannah Grace and DH wants Rebecca Anne. It is fun to argue over it now so I can't wait to see what happens if/when we do have to decide between them.

Since DS is only 14 mths we still have some names that were in the running from him, I know which ones I like best for both girl & boy & I am pretty sure DH will agree with me. Our problem is DD is 15 & very opinionated about names so we get her 2 cents worth for all of them....sometimes it is helpful (she thinks of stuff people would rhyme the name with that DH & I wouldn't think of) & sometimes it is a pain (she hated our boy name when I was preg with DS because of some kid at school, we will be using that name this time around whether she likes it or not :)).

We've had our names picked out almost since before we were married, haha!
I've had the name Nolan picked out since I was 12... thankfully DH loves it, too, so if we have a boy he'll most definitely be Nolan. Not sure on middle name yet but it will likely be a family name (Charles, Michael, David)...

For a girl, even tho there are a zillion pets? & little girls, particularly Asian girls it seems (I'm Korean) named Zoe, I think we're set on Zoie Grace for a girl, lol. We keep going back and forth on the middle name...Grace is a family name, plus I like how her name would mean Life & Grace.. we'll see tho! Smile

Jo- haha! I was about your DD's age when my parents were trying to name my younger sisters and I well remember giving them my opinions & doing the whole rhyming thing... they didn't listen to me anyways, & now (10+ years later) I can't imagine my sisters being named anything other than what they are, lol. Stick with your names!!! Wink

We've got a definite boy name- Lucas Ryan

For a girl I'm leaning toward Claire Lauren, but that one is still debatable. I'm also liking Lucy a lot lately. We abandoned the girl name we had picked out for several years (Kendal).

With DS, we didn't decide on a name for him until I was pregnant, but the girl name we had picked out since before we were married.

Claire is my 1st choice as well! And I reallllly love Lauren and texted it to kevin the other night but he vetoed it.. gr...

I love Kendal too!! AND... My dad used to call me Lucy when I was little, and I like Lucy Hale on tv.. haha.. so I think its really cute. And I used to really want Lucas, and really really really want Ryan as a middle name after my male best friend but kevin doesnt really like that either.. sigh!!!
