I am new to this board (though not to pregnancy.org; earlier this year I used to post under a different name [kittygirl]). I am about five weeks along. This is my third pregnancy; in the last year, I have had two miscarriages. My second one happened on my birthday in January and my doctor discovered an underlying thyroid disorder that has since been resolved. So here we are!
This pregnancy is very special to me not only because of my previous losses, but also because last week I was able to share my news with my mom just a day before she passed away of breast cancer. So I have had a lot going on in addition to being newly pregnant!
I have been very tired and a little queasy this past week, and my boobs have become very sore. Today I have been dealing with what I think is some round ligament pain. I remember this from my first pregnancy, but has anyone else had these kinds of sharp pains and dull aches so early?
Thanks for reading, everyone! I look forward to getting to know everyone a bit better. Please keep your fingers crossed that this little one will stick!
Hello Welcome and congratulations!!!! What is your name ? Im not actually prego yet so im just an April hopeful!! What a blessing that you got to tell your mom before she passed away ... At least now you know she will be watching over you both !! Ive read a lot about round ligament pain since its so common !! The ladies here are really nice and well educated so gl!! HH9M!! hope to join you and learn more about you !!
Hi and welcome to April! I remember you from the August BB. I also had a m/c in January.
I'm really sorry about your mom. I'm glad you were able to share your joy with her, though.
Wishing you a very HH9M!!
Congrats on the pregnancy but I'm so sorry that it's come at such a hard time. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. The hormones are all over the place and to deal with a loss of that magnitude....well, I just can't imagine.
I get round ligament pain on the right side mostly. If I move to quickly or get up suddenly I end up on the floor buckled over in pain. NO FUN! But the good news is that I had it with all 5 of my pregnancies so it's completely normal and nothing to worry about.
Welcome to April
I am sorry to hear about your mom, but glad that you got to share the pregnancy news. Welcome!
THis is #3 for me, and I noticed the round ligament pain before I even got a BFP. WHen I get up, get down, twist, anything...I feel an uncomfortable twinge. It's definitely worse this time around.
Welcome to the board! My condolences on your previous miscarriages and especially the loss of your mother. I can't imagine the roller coaster of emotions you must be experiencing right now. I'm so sorry.
To answer your question, I experienced round ligament pain with my first (though I think it came a little later in the pregnancy) and I'm already experiencing it with this one. This time around, I started feeling the sharp pains extremely early, before I even knew I was pregnant (so I would've only been about 3 weeks along). They're a very normal part of pregnancy, even this early.
I hope this one sticks for you, mama!!
