now i have a fever :(

So the discomfort I was feeling this morning has really improved - I think it was in part due to digestion. Ugh. But this afternoon I developed a headache and fever! My throat is a little sore and I've coughed some, but it's not too bad. I'm mostly concerned it could be the flu as I haven't had a chance to get my flu shot yet!

What should I do?

I think if you have a fever you might call your OB/MW just to let them know. They may have options for you or advice. Overall though, in my experience, there's not much you can do while pg. You usually just have to kind of suffer through it. I hope it's just a minor cold though and NOT the flu. Which reminds me that they are having a flu clinic locally starting on the 17th. I'll need to put that in my phone so I don't forget to go get me and DD our flue shots.

I was just sick with what felt like the flu. I would say make sure you drink plenty of water and get lots of sleep. I hope you feel better soon because being sick, especially while pregnant, sucks! Also you can take Tylonal for the headaches. I took Robitussin for my cough and it worked really great. It's safe during pregnancy. Also Tylonal Cold you can take. I took that too (not at the same time though). And also call your OB just in case. It never hurts.

Feel better soon!

I agree- LOTS of extra water and tylenol. Dehydration can happen quickly with fever, cold/flu, whatever.. especially when you just don't feel like getting up to do things for yourself as much. Make sure you get seen ASAP if it goes to your lungs though, because this bronchitis junk takes FOREVER to clear up!

Thanks for the advice girls! Having had two losses I think I am just extra afraid that something could be hurting the baby. I'm taking it easy with orange juice and chicken soup (and Tylenol) - I hope I'm on the mend soon!

I hope you start feeling better soon. It always sucks to be sick, but it is even worse when you are pregnant.

Hope you feel better soon! You are doing exactly right....fluids and Tylenol! Also, if you're getting sinus congestion, use a Netipot or some other salt water irrigation for your nose. :bighug: Its no fun being sick, especially not while you're pregnant.

IMHO it depends on how high your fever is. If it's only 100 or 101 I wouldn't take Tylenol unless your fever is 101.5 or higher. A fever is your body's natural way of fighting infection.

I hope you feel better soon!
