So relieved finally secured my new MW!

I am SO relieved. I know I'm only 7 weeks but there are not a lot of LM's around here so it's really hard to get one later on cause they book fast.

I called several yesterday, in case the one I really wanted was booked but she still had room for April/May!

Finally set my first appointment for September 22nd Smile I am SO RELIEVED! Can't wait to get things started. Crossing my fingers that the Doppler will pick something up even though I'll only be 8 weeks and 3 days but who knows, maybe I will get lucky!

That is great news!
Are you going to be delivering with a MW at home, birth center, or hospital?

Awesome news!! That is the biggest stressor for me normally... who will be my provider! I'm glad you've gotten things in place and can take a deep breath now!

We are planning another homebirth Smile

I was transferred out of care with my first because I was over 42 weeks.
I had to go in to stop my labor during the second homebirth because I had swelling from an accidental "latex glove" check (I'm allergic) -- but that one was all good too, labored at home in the water, was so awesome and was only in the hospital long enough to get the swelling down and she came out lol and the doc I got transferred into was pure awesomeness.

So this time we are hoping for no stupid latex gloves and this midwife will handle care even after 42 weeks so long as baby and placenta look good so I am SO happy! She was on the phone with me for almost 2 hours today with the getting to know you thing and getting a feel for what I'm okay with and not okay with. I really LOVED it. I hope she stays this good!

Thanks for all the replies Smile I'm so glad I have someone to talk to about this pregnancy, it's so hard keeping the secret!

XOXO

She sounds pretty cool to me!! Put a big sign on your front door that says,

"NO LATEX ALLOWED"

Biggrin

That's great news!! It feels good to know you have the midwife you wanted and trust. I was in touch with mine all through my TTC journey and I contacted her the day I got my first BFP. I was the second birth she was taking for April and that was it, yes, they book really fast. I'm also planning on having a homebirth.

Good luck with the doppler, I hope you get to hear the heartbeat!

Big Big 'No Latex' sign on your door for sure!

Yay for really clicking with the MW you found! Being able to talk for hours at a time and really getting to know her was what totally made me fall in love with my MW last time. We are hopefully planning another homebirth as well if we can get enough $$$ together.
