    Default Weight Gain Surge

I had my 32 week appointment today and the nurse nearly had to pick my jaw up off the floor when she took my weight. In the TWO WEEKS since my last appointment, I have somehow managed to gain SEVEN POUNDS. Seven!! I hosted a baby shower for my best friend on Saturday, so I ate a ton of food then, but otherwise it wasn't a crazy foodfest the last 2 weeks or anything. I was expecting to hear maybe 2 or 3, but seven!?? I feel like I probably set a record or something! What especially depresses me about this is that I have now officially gained 40 lbs.... and I still have 8 weeks left to go! By contrast, I gained 28 lbs the entire pregnancy with my daughter. Granted, I was about 50 lbs overweight when I first got pregnant with her, so it doesn't surprise me that I've gained more this time around, but still. I'm well on track to gain a minimum of 50 lbs w/this pregnancy, which is almost double the weight gain of the first one! Ack! Anyway, anyone else feeling any anxiety over their weight gain?

In 4 weeks I had gained 7-8 pounds. But then again I've been eating a heck of a lot more than usual (I'll eat dinner and 2-3 hours later I'm starving, wanting another huge meal). So far I've gained a little over 30 lbs this pregnancy.

With DD1 I gained 36, DD2 I gained about 25 or so (but she came early so I figure that's why), and then this one I've gained more than 30 lbs now.

So far I'm at 11 pounds since Week 17 (when I started seeing my current OB). But in between 3 weeks I did gain 7 lbs. The rest has been a pound here and a pound there. My goal for the entire pregnancy is 15 lbs but I'm overweight to begin with. I'm hoping I can gain less than 4 lbs the rest of the pregnancy....HERE's HOPING!!!

Well I guess I would be considered "overweight" before my pregnancy too. 5'6" and weighed 167. I had terrible morning sickness for the first three months and lost almost 10 pounds. I'm up to 171 as of my appointment last week. So technically I've only gained 4 pounds.

I'm in a weight loss support group (mostly made up of older ladies, less pressure and cost compared to other organizations too), and...... I just won't be talking about it. :-\ Several weeks ago, I passed the "high end" acceptable level for weight gain. This is based on my BMI, which is inaccurate... so they can shove it. My tests and in-office vitals are always spot-on, so I'm just trying to eat pretty healthy until a craving kicks in- then indulge- then back to making sure I get all the veggies, fruits, lean proteins, etc.

I am currently up 28 pounds this pregnancy which is REALLY good for me. With DD I gained 70 and with DS I gained 55-60 so I'm hoping to keep my weight gain to a minimum this time. I'm not doing as good as some of you but better than I usually do!

Well my weigh-in that came after the holidays put me up 11 lbs in 5 weeks. I said in amazement, "that can't be right?!"

I am up 38 or 39 too. I have nothing to compare that too since this is my first. But I do know that since I was overweight when I got preggo, my OB suggested not gaining much more than 25 throughout the pregnancy. Well, that clearly didn't happen.

Luckily my blood pressure and sugar has been good.

With my first, I ended up gaining 1-2 lbs overall. With this one, I'm up 15lbs right now. I've been holding steady the past month. We'll see what happens, it's not on the top of my worry list either lol.

I had a huge weight surge today as well. I was up 8lbs in 2 weeks, but the time before I lost 3 lbs. I am at about 30 lbs gained. With my other two 8 gained between 40-45 lbs, so hopefully I can stay below that but I started higher as well.

This makes me feel a bit better, honestly. I've been feeling like I set some sort of weight gain record. I just kept thinking, "HOW does somebody gain half a lb EVERY. DAY.?? So to know I am not the only person this has ever happened to puts my mind at ease a bit!

And Shylah, you must share... how in the world did you gain 1-2 lbs your entire pregnancy!??
