Are you freaking kidding me?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just went to the bathroom and when I wiped guess what? I have started my period AGAIN! THIRD time since giving birth! Every like 12 days I'm getting my period! WTH!

Is this normal? Not only that but I've been extra moody lately too. I did give in and take a pregnancy test JIK but I of course doubted I'd get a positive. It was definitely negative. I'm just so irritated right now. DH has only been gone 17 days and already I have started my period TWICE. Should I be worried?

It sounds like this is completely unusual for you. I'm guessing this didn't happen after your other children were born? It is normal for your system to be messed up for a while after birth, but I would think that it would at least warrant a call to your OB to make sure that it's not something that needs extra attention. KUP.

I would get a double check with a doctor... I would think they would at least want to check your iron levels.

Totally sucks, definitely not something I'm looking forward to.

Okay so (TMI alert!) today my period is really heavy and it's almost a deep purplish red. Is that normal? And there's a ton of clots. I mean I've had clots before but there's SOOO many!

I made a dr appt but they can't/won't get me in until the 28th. Unless I am able to get a same day appt but I have to call at like 8 AM and hope they have a spot open. Gah...

I'm extra moody and emotional lol. To me it seems like ever since my period returned the first time I feel like crying a lot more. I think next week I'm going to take my back up BC (the mini pill) and see if that'll help regulate things. I don't have much left of it (maybe 2-3 weeks) and I dunno when DH is suppose to get back (sometime between the 22nd and 26th last I heard). But when I go to my appt I'm going to tell them I'm not taking the hormonal BC either because I'm not gonna risk losing my milk supply. And I think I'll just lie about it anyway ha ha. I had two drs refuse to give me the mini pill saying I "should" be fine with my milk supply because there's "no studies supporting what I read" about hormonal BCs lowering milk supply.

I'm really hoping to get regular again and soon. I'm tired of feeling like I'm a walking crime scene lol.

I had a post-post-partum bleed at 5 weeks after Daniel was born (that's what my midwife called it). Today I have my first AF :-(. It's come with the irritability and cramping *sigh*. Daniel is just 10 weeks. No fair :-(.

I don't like that you have to wait that long to be seen especially if you're passing clots. Did you mention clotting when making the appt? You also mention reduced milk supply, I've been put on "Domperidone" tablets to increase milk supply. It's working wonders! It's the new alternative to topping up with a bottle of formula.

Oh I'm not low on milk supply, but I'm going to tell the dr that I am so they'll switch my BC pills. They refuse to give me the mini pill unless I'm having side effects from the one they gave me (I refuse to take that kind though because I fear it lowering my milk supply).

Since it's a military hospital they always book up quick. After I had my son they couldn't even get me in for my 6 PP appt until I would've been 8-9 weeks PP. But something happened and they moved up my appt which was good.

When I called to make the appt I told them what was going on, but when you call to schedule it's just receptionists who don't really know much. So when I told them my symptoms the guy was just like "Okay." Good news though is the clots did stop after the first or 2nd day but it was pretty bad...and gross!

Domperidone is not approved by the FDA in the US for lactation purposes, so doctors here won't prescribe it. That said, I got it on the internet the last time I was nursing when my supply dropped and it worked wonders.

I remember with DD2 my supply went down before my 6 week and they prescribed me something, but I can't remember what it was. However, it didn't seem like it did anything for me. One of the side effects of taking it was a big risk of getting PPD, but I didn't get that either.

I'm sure this is TMI too.. but I've just had a tiny amount of orange-red tinged mucus once every few days. I keep thinking it's AF returning, but it's just enough to be annoying. It's actually surprised me, because AF returned by 5-6 weeks with my girls. I also can't stand how hormonal birth control impacts supply, emotions, etc! Having my tubes tied is such a relief, to not have to deal with all of the side effects!

So I've been reading up on what could be the problem and I may have "breakthrough bleeding" which can be resolved with...drumroll please....NON HORMONAL BIRTH CONTROL!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I am going to go to my dr appt on the 28th and tell them to suck it and give me the mini pill or I will bleed all over their office!

Lol no, but seriously I am going to tell them I have pretty much non stop periods and demand to be on the mini pill. Tomorrow I am going to start taking my last pack I have (it's like a year old but I was using it earlier before DH left and stopped when he did leave so I would still have some when he came back since they refused to give me non hormonal kind).

anyway I just thought I would tell you ladies about that!

So I thought I'd give an update...I started taking my BC pill (the mini pill) Sunday and my period almost immediately stopped! I am so happy! Although I need to see if it will continue like that or if I still get it for 5-8 days and off for 3.
