Okay so.. as you all know, Julie won't sleep on her back. I've tried everything from propping her on her side to placing something that smells like me in there with her. She hates being swaddled, her hands HAVE to be out or she gets pissed! She sleeps fine on her stomach and she's had excellent head control since day one, so I let her nap as long as I can obsessively check on her. But I don't let her sleep like that overnight. She sleeps with me - and we've been on the couch for almost a month (and I've been on the couch for more than that because I couldn't get comfy in the bed at the end of pregnancy). I know sleeping on the couch with her isn't advised, but the way she positions herself to sleep doesn't worry as much as her sleeping on her stomach.
SO, anyway.. last night I was rocking her last night and I told DH that I needed to sleep in the bed. My back hurts constantly. So of course, he was like..put her in her crib! I said it's not that easy. But she was asleep so, I took her in there and placed her on her back and of course she woke up immediately. I picked her back up before she could start crying and rocked her some more. I placed her back in the crib within five minutes, expecting her to start to cry. That was at 845. We went to bed at 930. I couldn't sleep because I kept thinking I heard her..lol. She didn't wake up until 11!! I didn't get much sleep - she definitely didn't sleep the same amount she would have with me on the couch BUT I DONT CARE!! I could have danced a jig across the room when I heard her at 11. That's a little over two hours of HER BEING ON HER BACK! I GOT TO SLEEP IN MY BED!! We finished out the night on the couch, but I'm still super psyched!!
