Default 1 hr test this morning

Getting ready to leave in an hour for my 1hr. I would complain, but work's been so obnoxious so far this morning, I'm glad to have an excuse to get outta here for a few hours.

I passed!!! Buuuuut, my blood pressure was high which is REALLY unusual for me. He wanted to check it again before I left, but we forgot. I'm going to check it at the machine we have here at work before I leave for today and keep an eye on it before my next appt. Also, I got a little irritated because the nurse was pushing me to fill out a card to register for Enfamil to send stuff to my house. I don't mind them giving out samples, but she was presenting it to me like it wasn't even an option, she was like, "fill this out and leave it for me." Made me feel like they must be getting a kick-back at the office which left a bad taste in my mouth.

Congrats on passing!! That was quick to find out.. mine didn't come back for a few days and it's attached to the hospital where they ran the labs...LOL

I take my three hour test tomorrow, I hope I pass. If I already can't eat "greasy foods" and then to be a diabetes diet as well? UGH

Good luck Jessica! I had to take the 3 hr test with my last one, but my doc office was a lot closer then. I was really nervous about the thought of having to take the 30 min drive to the office this time after fasting. I've been having too many issues getting light headed lately.

Also, I just took my blood pressure and it was 135/80. Still slightly above normal, but much better than the 150-something it was in the office.

Congrats on passing! One less thing to worry about.

Were you worried about passing the test when they took your BP? During the first part of my pregnancy, I was constantly scared to death that the dr was doing to detect another loss, so every time they took my BP at the beginning of the appt, it was through the roof. They finally started taking it again at the end, and by that time I was always more relaxed and it was normal again. Just wondering if maybe your high blood pressure had to do with worrying about the test. Anyway, congrats on passing!

Congrats on passing! I have this test tomorrow. So are you not supposed to eat beforehand? My appt is at 9:30, do you think I can eat breakfast if I eat at 6:30? Do I need to lay off sugar and carbs? All this thinking of not eating and sugar is making me crave Famous Amos Cookies.

Elizabeth, when I took the one hour test, she said anytime after midnight I couldn't have any sugar. So, if I were to get up and eat breakfast - it would have to consist of bread, cheese and water. But nothing about the day before...?
