Fructose and glucose are both sugars and both can raise blood sugar (says the Diabetic ) My doctor didn't metion anything about it either so maybe different doctors recommend different things. Personally I find that fruit (even a little bit) has a way bigger effect on me than other carby stuff in the mornings, so I would skip the apple if you are looking to skip sugars. But then again, since you're probably not diabetic, it's probably not as bad for you.

I could eat a light breakfast before my 1 hr. the test detects high sugar fir days before so it won't matter much. Mine was after Christmas and they think that's why high. Funny you could have bread since it is a carb which is just sugar.
I was told to eat light and proteins only. I had two eggs and two sausage links.
Alissa, I think my problem was that I was starting to feel sick from not eating as much as I normally do. I think that's why my BP was up.
