First, her weight. She was 7lbs 7.7oz at birth and 7lbs 2.3oz at discharge. At her appt, she weighed 7lbs 6oz. At first, I felt really disappointed that she didn't get back up to her birth weight, but her doc said he was really happy with her weight. I know it'sonly an ounce, but Iaalways worry I cut off her feedings too soon. She would stay latched all day if let her and have to kick her off when she's not eating and just sucking. It'll drive me crazy now waiting till 2 months to have her weighed again.
We took Liliana in at 2 weeks just to get weighed-she was also one oz. below her birth weight. The nurse we saw just said to bring her back in a week to make sure the weight continued an upward trend. Can you bring your daughter in without seeing the doctor just to get weighed? At my pediatrician, we can bring our daughter in whenever we want to check her weight, we don't even have to make an appointment, we just show up and sign her in as a weight check and they just pop her on the scale really quick.
I was going to say you should ask if you can come for a weight check. My doc will do that.
But I say that's great! They want them to be gaining, not losing so it's fine that she's not quite there yet.
My doc doesn't see Judah until 2 months as well.
I'm going to call and see if I can bring her in to be weighed somewhere around 5 weeks or so. I really don't want to wait until two months to find out she's not gaining well.
