Default 36 week appt and ultrasound

Had my 36 week appt today and also an ultrasound to see how big baby is. He's weighing approximately 7 lbs 11 oz and everything looks great. I'm a little concerned he's so big already... I do have 4 more weeks till my due date. Though I really dont think I'll make it that long. I can already tell my body is preparing itself. Also he checked my cervix and I'm at 1 to 1 and a half centimeters. I know it could be like that for a while but I'm guessing he'll be here within the next couple of weeks. I could be wrong but I just have a huntch. The ultrasound was cool but he's running out of room in there so much that you really couldnt see much. She did give us a profile shot but even it wasnt very good. Still exciting to see him since we havent seen him since our 17 or 18 weeks (cant remember which week it was) gender scan. Anyway, that is all! Just wanted to update you all on what went down. tick tock tick tock little man!!!

Yay for progress, thats one centimeter less during labor. Haha.

Don't worry about his weight. Somehow those weight guestimates are almost always off. They told my friend that her baby would be over 9lbs for sure. Nope baby was 7lbs 6oz when he was born.

It's exciting that you got to see him! Hopefully he arrives on time!!

Sounds like a great appointment! I agree with Elizabeth, the weight estimates can be off by quite a bit.

I've only known a handful of people who have had those sizing estimates be anywhere close to accurate. It seems like they're always ridiculously off. Our doctor suggested doing one, but I just don't see the point, though it would be nice to see her, even if she's all squished!

I agree about the size, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Sounds like you're body is prepping though!

Yep. My growth u/s at I think 37 weeks put Reid at 7 lbs 2 oz, and almost 2 weeks later he was 6 lbs 5 oz, so don't let it worry you too much. Yay for getting to see your little man again, even though you couldn't see as well. Getting closer to seeing his sweet face every day!
