Advice for nights

I don't know if any of the bf moms can help me, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Our nights are so terrible I'm going to lose it. She has one good period of night sleep, then the rest is a mess. Let me clarify what I mean by good period, she still usually eatsevery two hours, but iit's quick and she's right back to sleep. Tonight, I got a full 4 hr stretch, but after that... It was 12, 1:30, 3, 4:30 (which is now). At the 3am waking, I spent an hour making sure she got in a good feeding, meaning I slept for half an hour before she woke up again. I don't think she's that hungry, just looking for the boob to sleep. Sometimes, she's just up and restless. My only other tool for getting her to sleep is walking or vigorous rocking. Every night is like this. Do I just have to wait this out? Or is there something I can do here?

Edit to add: when she wakes, she seems really uncomfortable and grunty.

Ok, so I wrote this post in the middle of the night when I was beyond exhausted. I got a couple of hours of sleep (thank you pacifier) and feel a little less like I'm got to lose it, lol. Hopefully, once her digestive system calms down a bit, her sleep will get a bit more solid. Here's to tomorrow and hoping to sleep longer than 2 hours at a time!

Hugs Joan! I don't have any advice, just wanted to tell you that you're not alone. Reid wakes up about every 2 hours and typically takes an hour to get back down. He won't go back to sleep unless I nurse, won't even take a paci. We will get through this! Our babies will outgrow this phase in a little while. It seems like its taking forever while we're in the middle of it, but in reality in will be over in a matter of weeks to months. Stay strong Mama! I'm there with you!

Sad I hope it gets better soon!

My 3rd nursed every 2 hours, even at night, until he was 6 months old. GAH. At least he didn't take that long to eat, and we coslept and nursed lying down for the most part, which helped. Finally around 6 months he started doing longer 4-5 hour stretches.

Sadie did this last night too... I feel your pain, sometimes it feels like its neverending nursing but it will get easier it did with my other boys

I was going to suggest just making sure she gets a good feeding in and using the paci. Sounds like you're doing all the right things!
Oh, how often does she eat during the day? I try not to let Judah go longer than 3 hours during the day (usually he ends up doing one 3.5 hour stretch though) that way he sleeps longer at night.

Thanks ladies, it always seems like it's the end of the world at 3 am and your dead tired. Once I got a few more hours of rest, everything felt much more manageable. I doubt this will be my last desperate sounding post from me made in the middle of the night though, lol. Just remember, if my post makes it seem like I'm totally losing it, look at the time I made it. Dirol
