    Default Another UTI?

Looks like DD has yet another UTI. She's had 2 pretty severe ones in the past 2 years. I was warned if she got another one, then she would need to see a specialist. I got a call from teacher stating she was complaining of burning and pain. I was able to get her into the lab for a urine test but I don't know when the results would come back AND they won't prescribe anything until they are in.

I knew something was wrong when she told me she peed in her pants on the field trip yesterday by the night time she was saying "Mommy it burns." The pedi thinks she may have a problem in that her bladder may not be releasing all of the urine and a small pocket stays there and can cause infections. I hope it's not too bad and all she needs his meds not a specialist.

Now I feel bad because there is no relief until she gets meds and all she says is that it burns.

Oh no, poor girl. Can she take AZO tablets for some relief until the results come in or are those not safe for kids?

Oh that's terrible. UTI's are so painful. Poor thing. The past couple of years I've had a number of them, I never had them as child though. That has got to suck.

I hope they can fix it easily with meds. Did they not give her a pain med either? Usually I get an antibiotic and a pain med for the burning. I understand why they want to wait to give her antibiotics. I've had a couple of UTI's where my particular infection came back as being resistant to the antibiotic I was on, so that can cause a future more severe infection. Now I've learned to ask for the pain med and for them to call in my antibiotic when they get the result from the labs. It's much safer that way.

I never got the results. I was warned I guess because of the holiday. Hopefully they still call today. Luckily she is feeling slightly better, but still burns her.

I can't believe you are already to 17 weeks!!!!!

Hope your daughter feels better soon.

Are you giving her 100% cranberry juice in the meantime?

Oh no, poor girl! What terrible timing too. I hope she is able to get some relief soon, and that you are able to control it with medication.
