I had my regular OB appointment yesterday. In answer to my questions about my blood sugar, I was told (kid you not) "Eat more snacks." LOL Whatever, I guess everything is fine. It's weird (IMO) to go from having post meal blood sugars of like 105-115 to 80 all of the sudden without me changing anything, but the baby seems to be fine, and I am fine, so I guess it's fine.
I lost a lb from last time, so I'm up a grand total of 2 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight, which also seems weird to me, but the doc assured me that they only get all worked up about women not gaining weight if the baby isn't growing properly, which is clearly not the case with Rocket. So I guess I'll just enjoy the fact that I'm not going to probably have to diet to get back into my pre-pregnancy jeans, unless I suddenly gain 20 lbs in the next month or something.
BP was good, Rocket's HR was good (mid-140's) and the best news of all is that my fundus is only measuring 1 week ahead now! It was up to 3 weeks ahead at one point, so I guess maybe all of that rapid growth has slowed down, perhaps as a result of my continual low(er) blood sugar over the past little bit.
Other than that, we talked again about the possibility of inducing if Rocket is getting huge, and then he went through my chart and looked at the history from when I was pregnant with T. That was actually really reassuring because it turns out that this baby is pretty much on the exact same track that T was on. 4 weeks before he was born (so around 33 weeks) we did a growth u/s and found out that he was 5.8 lbs, which puts him and this baby pretty much neck and neck for growth (this baby was 5.2 at 32 weeks) They've always said that if he went to term he probably would have been about 8.5 lbs, so I'm hoping that the same is true of this baby - if he goes to term he'll be around 8.5 which is still totally pushable, and who knows, maybe he'll go a little early (but not too early) like his big brother.
So, that's about it. One more appointment in two weeks, and then I'm on weekly appointments. Eeeeep!
Alissa, you are quite a bit skinnier than me, but I'm down 17 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight and they don't seem concerned at all. I'm so jealous you get to know how much Rocket weighs!! I know it's because of your GD - and I'm not envious of that at all, so I guess I'll just sorta pout LOL
Someone asked me if I'm ready. I said no, I shoved everything in the bedroom and shut the door and they just looked completely appalled!! LMAO
Sounds like a great appt. I am jealous of the low weight. With my daughter I wasn't bad but this time I am huge
LOL Jessica - I laughed when you said that you'll just pout.
I'm soooo not ready either. DH is supposed to finish the nursery this weekend, so I'm hoping that happens, and then I will feel like it's time to break out the baby gear from the basement (because then I'll have some place to put it!) but right now we're a hot mess. The nursery is half done, all of the baby gear we own is still gathering dust in the basement, and we don't even have a name yet. :bonkself:
Aimee - I feel and look huge. I don't really know how it's possible to be as big as I am and not gain weight because I don't really feel like the rest of me is smaller than normal.
Sounds like a pretty good appt over all. Also glad to hear he seems to be slowing down in the growth department just a little bit.
I've gained so much weight this time around it's depressing. lol With my DS i lost 13lbs in the first tri from being sick, and after I gained that back, until the time he was born I had only gained 7lbs. I'm already up 19 and will probably be up 22-23 at my appt next week. Which I know seems to be on track, but still. Ugh! But from what everyone says, all my weight is in my stomach...and can't tell from looking behind me that i'm pregnant....guess i'll take it. Ha!
Sounds like a great appointment Alissa! Glad to hear his growth has slowed down to where he's close to where T was. I am totally not ready yet either, I need to get my rear in gear.
When I was pregnant with Robbie I started at 247lbs, I gave birth at 207lbs @ 36w1d. They were not concerned and as I am diabetic they knew I was eating 3000+cal/day and dropping weight.

Sounds like a good appointment! Glad his growth has slowed down a bit, I know that had you worried. And if he comes when T comes, then you don't have too much longer.
So did you get the nursery together?
