Been MIA ... and very sick!

Hi Ladies,

Been MIA. Sorry for not posting but I've been trying to keep up.

I have morning sickness 24/7.

I still haven't had my first real prenatal appointment yet so I called my doctor last week and got her to call in some Zofran.

Which makes it worse sometimes, okay for me to function other times. It's touch and go.

I've lost about 10 pounds so far. I am exhausted, it's been very, very, very hard.

I've managed to make it to work every single day except I left early on Thursday.

I had my first prenatal scheduled for Monday - but my boss didn't like it and said no (pissed me off).

So I had to reschedule for Thursday at a "better time". So now i have to wait another 5 days instead of 2. I still haven't seen the heartbeat yet or had anything else checked since the ultrasound back at the beginning of August that showed the sac.

But I cannot eat anything. It's hard to smell anything. I can handle maybe some rice and I try to have crackers before I wake up. I have a preggie pop drop a few times a day. Otherwise, it's just a struggle daily for me.

I hope everybody is doing well.

Whew, that sounds rough. Hopefully it doesn't last too much longer for you. Morning sickness is no fun and yours sounds particularly awful. You should chat with babywings (can't remember her name). She is about as far along as you and also dealing with crazy morning sickness. I just got morning sickness yesterday for the first time. And that was bad enough. Today I tried eating crackers before getting up. Seemed to help, but I felt quesy for at least 2 hours.

So what do you do about prenatal vitamins when morning sickness is so bad? I'm positive that I puked mine up yesterday.

And how rude of your boss to make you postpone your appointment. I would be pissed too.

Btw, I love your daughter's name...so cute. It was on my list but DH likes very traditional names so we are having to compromise.

I was thinking of you yesterday. I was hoping you didn't do like I do...and find out bad news and just completely drop off the board. I'm glad you're still hanging around.
As for the m/s, that sounds awful. It IS awful, I go through the same thing. I've learned to throw up and just keep on doing what I'm doing. Typing this thread for instance. Puke in the bucket, type a sentence. It makes me so miserable, but I've learned I definitely cope better alone. When DH is home I feel like I need to still talk to him and make his dinner...and I continuously puke in the kitchen. And then I whine and cry because I feel so horrible. Work is wretched. I work around a lot of men that are complete babies when they see me puke, so I have to run into a nasty smelling "mop room" which is really just a sink everytime I feel sick.

I so completely understand what you're going through...and I feel for you. Have you tried SeaBands? They look ridiculous and did not do a single THING for me, but some people swear by them. Preggie Pops helped for me when I had one in my mouth, but as soon as I was done, it came back. I thought maybe sucking any kind of hard candy would work but that doesn't seem to be the case. Sea Band brand also makes some Ginger Gum. It worked as I was chewing it but nothing after.

I'm sorry Zofran doesn't work for you. It helped the first couple days I was on it, but it's not a miracle drug and I still can't eat everything (case in point, me throwing up now.. I took a Zofran like 3 hours ago).

I wish you much luck. Sorry this is so long.

Thank you so much for the encouraging responses.

Jessica - my husband has actually been making dinner because I cannot go into the kitchen LOL.

He will try to make me things and I usually have to give it back. I feel SO BAD.

I've tried everything and it's just gotten to the point of sheer exhaustion.

I had no morning sickness with my son. I had a little bit with my daughter but this is insane.

I guess it gets worse with each kid LOL.

Elizabeth thank you for the compliments on her name. My ex husband is Persian so we chose her name based on that.

This time around we have a girl and a boy's name already chosen that I had wanted before but my ex husband didn't like LOL.
