I've been trying to avoid posting til I knew more, but it seems that this wants to take its sweet time to be figured out.
Unfortunately it doesn't look too good for the BFP's I've been receiving.
The spotting and cramps got worse so I headed to the doctor.
Friday: HCG level of 27
Monday: HCG 67
Tuesday: HCG 89
The doctor is fairly certain this is chemical or possibly tubal. Blighted ovum could possibily be another option.
Her odds of this being a normal pregnancy were low but "possible."
The levels are extremely low and not doubling - with the cramping and off and on spotting ... it's just not looking good.
I was in the ER yesterday because I got so sick I couldn't hold anything down so I had an IV and then got another blood test (the result was 89).
I had another draw today and will find out tomorrow morning what that result is.
They wanted to do another ultrasound next week to inspect for a tubal - but my levels are so low, nothing would even be seen.
Options are wait til it hits 1500 and do another ultrasound (if it even hits that).
Continue to do blood tests every 48 hours until a complete drop off.
Or to take a shot of a drug to dissolve anything that "might" be in the tubes.
I said absolutely not to the last option until I know for sure.
Anyhoo that's the update on me. It's truly upsetting, but it happens, and I knew with the spotting and cramping it probably was leaning towards another chemical as I've had two before.
But she did say "possible" for a normal pregnancy, albiet slim. So not all hope is lost.
I will KUP but wanted to poke my head in.
Awww Jenn! That is hard news!
I pray that you have a little miracle bean that is just a little slow to start!

Your numbers don't seem that low to me. They say they just need to double every 48-72 hours. I also had lots of cramping in the beginning of my last pregnancy. It ended badly for me but that was much later on and had nothing to do with it since I had no symptoms of miscarriage including my numbers. But the point I'm trying to make is that I was a little bit of a low riser. I got my betas pretty early but my doc did more than usual because he wanted to be sure they were going up enough and once they started going up pretty good they tripled. So you could just be a slow riser. I certainly hope that's the case. It's still so awful to get any news that could be bad and I hope so bad that it's just one of those things that happens and that everything is okay for you. Sending you giant hugs and praying for you sweetie.
I'm so sorry that you are going through such a stressful time. I know you must be just sick over it.
All my thoughts and hopes with you that you will get better news soon.

Thanks for the support. It means so much.
The numbers came in. My numbers went to 144.
So we are still VERY low.
The doctor did say however, it did double, and it was a nice rise.
She said they're keeping an eye on me - that it appears with how the numbers are rising at a doubling rate that it's most likely not tubal, but they still can't rule it out.
I'm supposed to be 5 w 1 d and this is an awfully low number.
I stil have some hope. I don't have another blood test until Monday.
Luckily I've had no bleeding or spotting in two days.
It's touch and go ... but we will see if this bean is simply slow rising.
People keep asking me (like my mom, etc) if maybe I'm not as far along as I thought.
I got the first BFP on July 25. It's now August 3.
My guess is my HCG was between 10-15 on that first test.
Still isn't doubling based on that.
We will see and I will KUP.
