Every other month has some sort of chat thread.. Mainly just talking about everyday things, so I figure we should have one too. Anyone got anything to say? I always have something to say!
My throat hurts tonight. I know I haven't had enough water today, but I don't think that would make my throat hurt. Plus I semi-coughed earlier. I hope HOPE HOPE I'm not getting sick. I've been sick once with a cold and once with a stomach virus while I've been pregnant and I think maybe I'm done being sick because I've had my fair share.
Also, I was told today that I look like I've lost a lot of weight. ....... ......? But then she informed me she meant my face looks skinnier. I am down from my pre pregnancy weight because I STILL can't keep much down, but I never thought someone would say I look like I've lost a LOT of weight while I'm pregnant.
What's everyone else up too?
Sorry you aren't feeling well. My DH has had the flu for the past 3 days and I'm trying my hardest to keep a distance.
Not much going on these days. Can't wait for Friday already. It has been a long week. I haven't been sleeping well, so I think that's the problem. After work today I went to a specialty yarn store to buy some fancy yarns to make some hats for my friends toddlers. I started to knit them and made a major mistake and had to tear it all out...so now I'm frustrated and want to go to bed.
Jessica, you're my hero for all the stuff you've have to deal with this pregnancy. I really hope you magically feel awesome when your baby comes out.
Elizabeth ... that's why I don't knit, lol! MIL taught me how to do it and I was like, "why am I doing this??? I can just buy a scarf, lol" I do love hand knitted items, I'm just not willing to do the work.
I'm feeling ok over here. I have to work this entire weekend which I have to do once a month (I'm in the Air National Guard), so that's 12 days in a row of work. I work for the governement for my regular job, so 12 days is faaar too much government BS for my taste. I've usually completely lost my patience for everything around day 9 or so.
Elizabeth, I applaud you for having the patience to sit and knit something. I can already tell I'd quickly get tired and throw it down in disgust...lol. I haven't been able to sleep well either. I always ALWAYS nap around 1 to 3 (or even 4 sometimes) and I just can't get to sleep comfortably, so I usually skip my nap here lately. Then at bedtime I lay on my side and stare at the clock. Sometimes I lay on my back, just because I can feel baby girl so much better and marvel at her being there THEN I flip and stare at the clock LOL. Luckily, the doc gave me some stomach meds for night time that make me sleepy, so that's a help.
Joan, I have a friend that was in the National Guard. Do you have to do anything really physical? I've noticed lately I am getting out of breath a lot easier and I don't think I'd be able to do drill.
Elizabeth, if you get a chance you should post some pictures of some things you have knitted. I really admire people who are crafty. I'm soooo not. LOL
Joan - That's awesome that you're in the National Gaurd. I agree with Jessica - do you have to do a lot of really physical things? I think that would be starting to get hard by now.
Jessica - If this were a just world, you would get a completely pain free labor and a baby that STTN by the time she's a month old after everything you've been through during this pregnancy. Here's to hoping for some sort of universal karma kicking in!
AFM - Looking forward to tomorrow. It's DH's birthday, and it's also his parent's 35th wedding anniversary (can you imagine having a baby on your wedding anniversary?) so they have made reservations for a 5 course meal in a really cool old restaurant in Manitou Springs which is about an hour away from us. Since it's a 5 course meal and T is your average 4 year old boy, he is not invited. LOL So my parents are taking him over night, which means that not only do I get to have a la di dah fancy 5 course meal in which I don't have to cut anyone else's meat, but I also get to sleep in on Sunday. I think I'm looking forward to tomorrow more than DH, and it's his birthday.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Alissa, haha about not cutting up someone else's meat. Um.. I'm not even sure I should mention this but, whenever any meat has bones in it (such as a steak or a bone-in pork chop) I MIGHT get DH to cut it off the bone. Well, if he cooks. If I cook, I don't get anything with bones in it. I know I know, I'm grown, I should cut up my own stuff. Pfft, whatever LOL. But a 5 course meal sounds fantastic! Hope you have a good time.
Cristan, that's awesome that you play the clarinet! I used to play the violin many many moons ago and I loved it. UNTIL my grandmother insisted I have private lessons... and then I didn't love it anymore..haha.
LOL Jessica - Your DH must really be crazy about you. I think if I asked DH to cut up my meat for me or even cut it off the bone, he would a) not do it and b) never let me live it down. LOL
Cristan - that is really cool that you play the clarinet! Have you always played it (like, since you were a kid) or did you learn to do it as an adult?
Haha, I looked up the menu at this restaurant we're going to. I guess the restaurant is super old, and they were on Ghost Hunters! Haha, I would seriously die if I saw a ghost like in the bathroom or something.
Alissa have fun on your night out!
Cristan, I'm jealous, I've always wanted to play an instrument. I keep telling DH I want a ukulele. Haha.
It's super old, and I don't really post this to the public too much, bc its more for archival purposes...but here is my old knit/crochet blog. I will post Henry's Blanket and the hats I've been doing here soon. I've made 2 baby hats recently and I'm working on 2 more. Infant hats are so tiny, I can do them in 1 night. elizations
Cool blog Elizabeth! I really liked the baby blanket (and what a touching story about your friend!) and the grey scarf from 2009! Thanks for sharing.
