Cheapy!

DH is being a real stick in the mud! We went all out for DS 2s nursery, but he NEVER used it. Literally never. He has slept in our bed since he came home from the hospital. He doesnt play in there since all his toys are either in the living room or scattered elsewhere throughout the house. I wanted to buy a new bedding set for the new baby but DH said we should just use the one thats in there since it was never used. I can understand where he's comming from. But I was soo excited to redecorate the nursery for Henry.

So heres my question.. Would you just use the same nursery stuff? Buy all new? I just feel like this baby deserves his own stuff but it would save us alot of money. *sigh*

Joy, I know how exciting it is to decorate for something new. But I think that nursery looks ADORABLE!!!

First of all, awwwwww! Your bedding set and matching decorations are freaking ADORABLE!!!!

I hate to say it, but I'm kind of with your hubby on this one. If this baby is a boy, I'm sure we'll just reuse the bedding that we used with T because it's still in good condition, and babies don't care.

On the other hand, I also understand where you're coming from, because if this baby is a girl I do want to get new bedding and curtains and girly decor. I'm sure my DH will remind me of what I just said "T's stuff is in good condition, and babies dont care."

I would totally reuse it. I have g/n bedding that I've used with all of my kids. I figure when they get older they will have more of an opinion on what their room looks like so I'll give them a say then. Smile
I mean, you would reuse clothes so why not bedding?
I guess if you *really* wanted to you could try to sell the set on CL and buy a lightly used "new-to-you" set. And then you could redecorate the rest of the room. Or paint a different color or do SOMEthing different just so it doens't look the same.

I would re-use it too, its so cute! But I get where you are coming from. My DH is a such a cheapo. He looked at my baby wish list and said "no" to many items, including a swing. So many of my friends swear by a swing. He's crazy. We are getting a swing whether he likes it or not. Haha.

After hearing you ladies out, ive decided to just reuse what we have. I love it, and I can always add a couple things to the room that will be special for the new guy. Smile Plus, we will need to extra money to get a double stroller and those are not cheap!

I LOVE the nursery stuff you have now! So cute, plus if it was never used why not? I say save the money and spend it on something else. Plus if it was never used then it wont be like "reusing" it, think of it like this... you just bought this babys bedding REALLY early!... like before you even knew there would be a baby. LOL I say go with what you have girly! Wink

We're not even bothering with a nursery for this one. DS barely even used the one we did for him and we put so much into it. This kid will be in our room for a year probably because all of our other rooms are upstairs and that's just too far for me for a baby under 1. Honestly, even if we have a girl, I'll probably still just resuse the old boy themed sheets, because a baby doesn't care. The nursery you did is ADORABLE too!

The nursery is adorable. I agree with others and say reuse it and take the money you would have spend on new bedding and use it for something else you need...like the double stroller you mentioned. Maybe you could put this new LO's name on the wall to make it more his?
