    Default Clumsy

So it snowed this morning and I slipped while walking the dog. I didn't fall, but it was scary to do the cartoon running feet thing. But then I got to work and reached for a stash of rubberbands and fell. I kind of went into the splits and fell to the side catching myself with my hands. Baby has been kicking all morning, but my vag is on fire and so is my inner thigh. Do you think I just pulled a muscle? I feel a lot of pressure like a bowling ball is sitting on my cervix. I'm sure its just the baby's position, but its concerning.

I think my midwife thinks I'm a whiny butt, because I have called her about a million things. I really don't want to call her, so I'm going to wait it out for the rest of the day as long as baby keeps moving.

Okay so.. I'm gonna tell you what I tell myself all the time - your MW and/or OB, have a job because they have to take care of people like you and I. So, if you're concerned, it wouldn't hurt ONE BIT to call and just ask...just to assure yourself. Stressing about it isn't good either.

However, aside from falling and landing straight on your belly, I don't think you'll have an issue. Babies have a lot of cushion around them...landing on your side probably was like a gentle "wave" to baby...lol You probably just pulled something - especially if you did a form of the splits. Just thinking about doing that makes MY hoo-hah hurt.

Yes, I agree with this. I don't think that you should be embarrassed to call your MW - that's her job to take care of you and answer questions, and I'm sure she enjoys her job and wants you to be stress free.

I also agree that baby is probably just fine because they have some of the best shock absorbers available, but if it were me I would be a little concerned about the burning vag and bowling ball sensation. It probably is just some sort of pulled muscle, but I'm typically a "better safe than sorry" kind of gal about stuff like this.

I hope you get a clean bill of health and that all of your ladyparts feel better soon.

Still having some pain, I will call tomorrow if its still there. It kind of comes and goes. I can't wait to take a warm bath. I haven't taken a bath in 2.5 years. My current place now has an old gross tub and we have a mold problem, so I refuse to sit in it. But when we move, the 2nd or 3rd order of business is a warm bath!!!

Thanks, I am! I was very sore last night, but I must have slept it off because I feel pretty good today.

I'm glad you're feeling better today. Sounds like you just temporarily pulled something. It's so easy to fall when you're getting big; it throws your center of gravity way off.
