Okay.. uh.. so I just heard a heartbeat, definitely a babies heartbeat, in two separate parts of my body. There's one over on the left and one over on the right. For the past few days, when I check, I thought I heard an underlying noise...maybe another heartbeat. I even said something to DH and he just blew it off. Today, distinct heartbeats on both sides. WHAT THE....?? There's nothing in between them, it's not like I can hear it all the way across.
So, ladies with dopplers, can you hear the heartbeat on both sides?
I haven't had an ultrasound since around 11weeks and it was the MW and she admitted she didn't know what she was doing, but...there was clearly only one image of a baby.
I mean, there's just one in there, right? RIGHT??
I have heard it on both sides, but there is usually a sweet spot where I can it loud and clear. I think, and I could be wrong, that since baby is getting bigger the doppler can detect it from further away. But when I say further away, I mean like a couple inches. But if its like 10 inches away and you are hearing 2 heartbeats, I don't know. Unless the baby is moving when you move the doppler...or its twins. What's the heartrate? Are they the same on each side?
I am a terrible person but I'd be begging for another ultrasound.
I've heard that as the baby gets bigger, you can hear it from different parts of the uterus (kind of depending on the angle and what is in between like legs, et cetera) So, that could be it, just that the baby is now big enough for you to hear in different spots. Having said that, I would still be demanding an u/s. Then again, you have one in one week, right?
