My DD has been feeling sick with a sore throat for a couple of days and had diarrhea for a day too. Well today she is running a fever, got her on motrin since it's a bit high. UGH, I think she may have gotten me sick. Throat and nose feel a little funny and I just feel icky! I never got sick while pregnant with her so this is a first for me. Should I be worried at all??? I know I can't take anything. If I still feel bad tomorrow I will mention it to the RE. Hopefully I don't get a really bad cold like her... that would stink!!
Now that I brought this up...
Who will be getting the flu shot? I got it with her, so I will do it again since I work with kids.
Oh no that stinks Marisol. Hope you and DD feel better soon. When I start to feel sick I do vit C, zinc lozenges, and cold snap which is sold at whole foods, but I'm not sure if its safe to take while pregnant. It has like 17 herbs in it.
I hate shots and have never had a flu shot in my life, but I did get the flu last year so I think I will get the shot. I kind of want to wait until the 2nd trimester...I know they say its safe at any point, but the idea of a live virus being pumped into my body when my enbryo is so fragile kind of freaks me out. But if I wait too long flu season will be here. I'm scared bc every time my dad gets the shot he gets the flu and that would just suck. I don't have any sick days left this year.
Yes take zinc if you can (mine are pretty big pills) which will really help the length/strength of your sickness. And vitamin C is always good too.
I've never gotten the flu shot and have never gotten the flu so I don't plan on getting it this year either. When I was pregnant before all of that H1N1 stuff was going around but I didn't get it then either. Why mess with a good thing?
Oh no, hope you are both feeling better today! Being sick while pregnant SUCKS; you're already tired and wiped and feeling a little off, and then an illness comes along....ugh.
Yes, I will get the flu shot. I get them every year for a couple of reasons. 1) DH is a teacher, so he always drags crap home. 2) T is in daycare part time and pre-school part time, so ditto, always bringing stuff home. 3) Both T and DH have asthma, so I wouldn't want to possibly bring home the flu and expose them to it (although they both get flu shots as well, but no vaccine is 100% so I am hoping that even if theirs were to fail, if mine works at least I won't expose them to it.) I've never had a bad reaction to a flu shot, so it seems like a pretty easy and cheap precaution to take to try to keep us all healthy.

DD is very congested but no fever today. I'm just feeling groggy...you know that slow moving feeling you get. My nose is watery and I'm sneezing a lot. Hopefully it won't get any more than this.
