Let's get this board jumping, mama's!
I'm Nidia, 28, mom to a very sweet boy named Noah whom is 4! Married to the love of my life, Chase, since 4-12-2008 I love to read on my spare time, lately.. I haven't had any spare time though. I'm co-owner of a book club, love, love our book club! I work for a Housing Authority.. my job is ok. HAHA! It has it's days. We had been TTCing since March and finally got ouR BFP!! Yey My son is ready for a sibling, he says he wants a BROTHER! We will see what's in store.
I'm Liz 38 and df is Michael 33.
We've been together just over 4 and a half years and have been ttc for just over 3 and a half years.
We have no problems getting preggers... It's just getting the beans to stick.
In feb I finally got answers and found out I am homogyous for a mutation gene mthfr.
This means my body doesn't convert the folic acid as it should and this in turn causes my babies to convert to non viable trisomies.
My last miscarriage in nov was twins lost to downs. Apparently this condition is linked highly to downs in particularly.
I am now on 5 mg of folic and progesterone pessaries from approx 2 or 3 dpo.
I work for tesco after being made redundant from a great office job... But love it as I get to chat and chat... Must be doing something right as I won employee if the month this month!!
We have 2 tortoises and psycho cat and we did have a mad jack Russell but we just had to rehome him as we just couldn't fulfill his needs and he had overbonded with me and with that it is potentially dangerous to bring a new baby in.
Miss him so much though.
Erm thats about it!
Well... Probably loads more but I won't wibble on
TTC 2 Years +
I'm Alissa (32) and I have been married to my DH, Jon (31) for 7 years (together for 9.) We have one born child (Tristan, 4) who is very excited to be a big brother, and who is ready to take his responsibilities very seriously. Since finding out that he is going to be a big brother, he has been very conscientious about eating his vegetables and getting his exercise so he can be "a strong big brother." Melts my heart! I work in the financial industry, and DH is a teacher. T is starting pre-K this year, and he does swim lessons and tumbling classes. We also have one dog, a little 6 year old mutt named Ellie that is literally the best family dog anyone could ever ask for.
We've been trying to have a second child since 2010, and like Liz I don't have any trouble getting pregnant, but I have had trouble staying that way, with 2 losses since then. This past time, we took almost a year to investigate my health issues, get me as healthy as possible, and get a plan in place for a healthy pregnancy, so I'm really hoping that it sticks this time.
Hmmmm, what else? We're just finishing a major overhaul in our house that was not planned, but that we're really happy about now that it's almost done. In early June our fridge leaked water and warped our hardwood floors, so as a result we have had to get new floors, new trim, they had to fix the drywall which meant repainting, and get a new fridge. Insurance paid for most of it, and it looks better than it did before, so I'm happy about it now but it was a serious pain during the process. I'm actually sitting here watching them put in the new fridge as I type this.
That's about it. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi Ladies! I'm Lynn, mom to 2 cool little boys. My oldest, Colin, just turned 4 and my youngest, Ryne, is 18 months. I'm married to Ken. We will be celebrating our 12 yr anniversary August 12th. We started dating when I was 15 and he was 18, so kind of highschool sweethearts.
This baby is a surprise...even though I've been trying to talk DH into JLIH for baby #3 he has not been willing to go for it yet. We didn't DTD during my expected fertile time at all as DH was out of town so it would seem I O'd either a week early or a week late. I have my first appointment scheduled for 8/30 so hopefully I'll find out how far along I really am then. Oh and I'm an AMA mom this go round at age 35.5.
My oldest DS is really excited to get a new sibling. From the time DS2 was born DS1 tells me randomly from time to time he wants a sister. I am hoping to give him his wish.
I work for an engineering firm, I'm one of the designers, a civil engineer and I've mostly worked in airfield design. It's an "ok" job too.
I spend most my free time trying to keep my house in order, spend time with DH and the kiddos and planning how I'd like to decorate my home (however the resources for this hobby are not readily available). I've been trying to learn to sew some...made a couple of pillows for DS1's room and have some material to work on some curtains for the master bedroom but haven't started that yet.
I am usually totally worthless during pregnancy as I have bad morning sickness until about 18 to 20 weeks. So far I'm feeling really normal so trying to be happy about that without worrying at the same time.
Hey ladies! My name is Jessica, my husbands name is Tim. We are still kinda "newlyweds", we got married in May. I met him in high school, we dated for about a month and we went our separate ways. He got married, I got married... he got divorced and I was heading that way. Looked him up on FB, he offered to change a headlight for me and ...that's what got us going. I'm so incredibly lucky to have him. My first husband was kind of hateful and Tim spends a lot of time undoing all the negative from my ex. ANYWAY, like two others before me, I have no problem getting pregnant, it's staying pregnant that's the problem.
I had a chemical preg in Sept and an Ectopic in late January. I bled through both pregnancies and knew something was wrong. I'm not bleeding this time, plus certain smells make me wanna hurl, so that's good.
I don't have any kids, but I have two miniature schnauzers, Smokey and JoJo. JoJo is the newest addition, I only got her maybe 8 months ago. She's sooooo cute...and she knows it 'cuz when she does something bad all she has to do is look at me and I melt. Smokey is my little man, the most well behaved dog ever...and he's very handsome Yes, I know I talk about my dogs like people talk about their kids.
So, wishing you all a H&H9M. Hopefully we all have beautiful babies in April!
Hi I'm Vicki (28 ) married to Tim (30). We have two kids - Micaiah is 4 and Noel is 2. We've definitely always wanted more than two but wanted to have a bigger gap between the 2nd and 3rd. Even though I've had baby fever for at least 6 months, I think we are finally at a good enough place in our marriage (we've had some rough times) to have a third child. So both DH and I were on board with this one.
I am a SAHM and the kids definitely keep me busy. However, in my spare time (haha) I love to coupon and find deals online. I'm a compuer-a-holic, I think I need to go to some sessions for my addiction. But seriously, I'm always plugged in.
I am very social and love to go out with my kids - shopping (grocery shopping is a hobby of mine!), to playdates, etc. Which is why I wanted to wait a bit before we threw a third kid in here. By the time #3 is born, DS will about to be in kindergarten and I will still have the freedom to go out with 2 kids pretty easily.
I just got a BFP today and a faint one at that so no one except some online friends and my hubby knows quite yet. It will be exciting to tell the kids since they are both older than my first was when I had #2 so they will understand more.
Anyway, nice to meet you ladies!
ETA: Alissa - my friend just went through the same kind of kitchen thing you did. They had a leak which led to just a whole kitchen overhaul and they even had to stay in a hotel for awhile. But yes, insurance paid for it and they got a brand new kitchen out of the deal!
Hi ladies! My name is Joy(27) and i'm married to my love George(26). We've been married a little over 8 years now. We met back in 2003 and got married after only dating 4 months. Everyone said we we're crazy but he's my bestfriend!! We have 3 children: Haylee(9), Damien(4), and Jace(14 months).
Baby #4 was not planned but are so excited!! The kids are especially excited! The gender war has already began. DD wants twin girls so they can outnumber the boys.. DS1 wants another baby brother so they can pick on his sister! Lol As for me, i'm happy with boy or girl. We have our first appt scheduled for next Tuesday, the 14th.
I am a SAHM and love being with my kids all day!! With school starting back it's going to be awfully quiet around here. DS1 starts Pre-K this week and i'm sure i'm going to cry like a baby! He's rarely been away from me so it'll be hard but he is sooo excited!! I am currently nursing my 14 month old but hope to have him weaned by the time the new baby comes. I have no clue exactly how to go about it since he was my first BF'd babe. When im not chasing kids or cleaning the house I love to spend time outdoors. I also enjoy crocheting, sewing, and photography.
I look forward to getting to know you all better and congrats!! =)
I love hearing everyone's story!
I'm Jessica (25), and FH is Paul (27). In just a few weeks, he'll graduate from FH to DH, as we're getting married on September 1st. Our original plan was to try to be past the first trimester before the wedding, or at least be far enough along to feel comfortable telling everyone at the wedding. There likely won't be another time in our lives where we have so many of our family members together in one place. My family lives on the east coast, so we don't get to see each other often. Anyways, that plan was foiled, but we kept trying anyways.
We're really looking forward to being parents, and have felt that way for a long time. We had some hurdles to overcome in the past year, including FH having testicular cancer, he's in school finishing his degree and working full time, we bought a house that needed A LOT of reno work, planning a wedding AND TTC! People keep telling us.. if we make it past the wedding without killing each other, we'll make it through anything. I know I've snagged a good one though, it's his goal to make me a SAHM, which is my dream job. I can't wait to apply for mat leave!
Random fact about me: If I had to choose a job outside of the home, I would LOVE to be a mechanic. Weird huh? I love cars, love to drive, and love to work with my hands. Maybe some day, when kiddos are older, I'll get to work towards my other 'dream job'!
Jessica, I totally hear you on a dream job being to be a SAHM. That is wonderful that your FH is working toward that. It hasn't worked out for me but is still my dream job.
I think I'm 50/50 on a SAHM. One, it'd be nice to be able to stay home and be able to witness every minute with our little miracle. (I told DH last night when I was ready to throw up that this is HIS baby because MY baby wouldn't make me wanna puke! LOL) However, financially I'd be freaking out. Could we make it? Possibly. But then I'd also have to do laundry and dishes everyday since I'm at home...and that just doesn't sound fun at all. lol
