I'm sorry things didn't go as planned, but happy you escaped a C section at least! Best wishes with your recovery and can't wait to hear more!
Congratulations!!! Hoping you have a quick and easy recovery. WTTW Henry!!!!
Kind of emotional over here. I hate the nurses at my hospital..they come in every 5 minutes and it seems it always when i get him to sleep.
So I lost a lot of blood and was dizzy and my heart rate shot up, so I had to have a blood transfusion. The heplock is in my dang left thumb almost, which is making it harder to hold henry to nurse him. i am also dealing with serious cluster feedings and lack of sleep. I just slept my full hour since thursday night.
(((Hugs))) Eeeek, the dreaded newborn cluster feeding! Has your milk come in yet? If not, it probably will today or tomorrow and that should help a little. It's so hard to rest with a brand new baby and even harder to rest in the hospital so I'm sure that you are beyond exhausted. Have you thought about letting the nuses take him to the nursery just for an hour or two to let you sleep? I did that once with Reid on my second night. I told them to bring him back if he was fussing to eat and they did, but I got a good two hours in the meantime. They had a swing they put him in that kept him asleep for two hours which allowed me to get a tiny bit of much needed rest. Just a thought for if you are starting to feel desperate. (((Hugs))) This WILL get easier and you will sleep a full couple of hours in a row again soon, I promise.
Echoing Alissa's post.. Sounds like you have a lot going on over there, mama. I know you said you didn't want to stay there very long b/c of costs but I'm sure you're still there with the transfusion issue.. if you feel comfortable, let them take Henry for a little bit to get some sleep.. it will do you wonders! Hang in there.. it WILL get easier.. I'm sorry you're struggling right now.
MEGA huge hugs!
I'm sorry Elizabeth. It gets easier, I promise! The first few weeks are really hard. I cried a ton in the hospital from a combination of the hormones, being hungry, the meds I was on making me sick, plus lack of sleep. How much longer are you staying? If you have a few more nights, I'd send someone to buy you an eye mask and noise cancelling headphones. Those were a life saver for me in the hospital. I could still hear the baby, but not the background junk. Big hugs to you. It sounds like it's been a really rough couple of days for you.
Big hugs. I remember how annoying it was to constantly have them popping in the room, especially when you are trying to sleep. Always having to wake baby up to check his vitals.....leave us alone!
So sorry about the transfusion. I really hope things get better soon and you can head home. I had a 4th degree tear that required 60 stitches with my 1st baby, so I understand the pain you are in. Best wishes!
