I love Zofran!

Called my nurse yesterday and explained that I was going to get fired if I couldn't stay at work and get my work done. I was constantly throwing up and nothing really helped (and if I taste one more thing of ginger....UGH). So she gave me Zofran which I picked up this morning at nine.

WOWOWOWOW!!! What a huge difference! I stayed at work wayyyy past the time for me to get off so I could catch myself up from the week. I ATE LUNCH!! I just am elated, can you tell? haha. I'm even going to cook DH dinner tonight. WOOT!

Lately, I've been having... uh, cramps I guess. Kinda feels like AF is about to start. I know I saw the baby, so a period coming is highly unlikely. I keep telling myself it's just my uterus stretching.

Right?

I took it every day from 7 weeks on during my last pregnancy! I had to be hospitalized 3 times before i could get my morning sickness under control!!!! It is TRULY a miracle drug!!!! But I pray this time I have NO morning sickness! LOL!

Jen, I hit 7 weeks today. I've been queasy for the past week and a half, BUT the past three days have been nothing but vomiting over and over and over.

They gave me 6 refills. I got this!! LOL

The best part? Instead of gaining weight my first trimester I lost 12 pounds! LOL!

Im glad that you got the meds- it was hard to enjoy being pregnant when all I did was pray for death while laying on the bathroom floor! LOL!

Oh man.. I hope I don't get sick enough to need that! I was driving today, and had a pang of nausea so bad that I had to reach around in my back seat for a plastic bag. I've never had to pull over to throw up, and there was nowhere to pull over where I was in busy rush hour. I was fully prepared to barf while driving if I needed to.

The funniest part was, the bag I grabbed was full of empty pregnancy test boxes, the ones I bought and snuck into the house so FH wouldn't call me crazy! Turns out, that makes me sound SUPER crazy.

So happy for you that you've found some relief. I may call my doctor and say something similar so I can have some on hand for 2 weeks from now. I refuse to let m/s ruin my wedding day!

Jessica - my last pregnancy, I had like 20 tests in my sock drawer.. ALL used. I just loved seeing that positive! This time, as soon as I got a positive - I threw them away (and didn't get to 20..lol). I figured I didn't wanna keep 'em around like I did last time in case something was wrong.
I havent pulled over to barf YET, however, I've come close to vomiting in the car. I'm a little concerned about going on the interstate and then barfing because I KNOW I close my eyes while I'm doing it. I can't imagine doing it while driving. Ugh. Good thing DH drove the other day, I threw up the ENTIRE way home.
Also, if you do ask for Zofran, make sure to ask for it by name..they also give out Phenergan and that makes me SLEEPY. Like to the point that I have to sleep. Immediately. I got the generic Zofran - if you get brand name it's like 15 bucks a pill. Worth it? Yes, but I'll take generic anyday.

I'm glad the zofran is working its magic on you!

Jessica, I had to take my car to the mechanic and was cleaning my car out and I found 2 empty boxes of preg test under my seat. I did the same thing, trying to hide my testing obsession from DH.

Yay for relief! It must have been bad for you. Sad I had a couple days of not being able to keep anything down w/ my first, but it was never unbearable.
And yes, I have puked in the car while driving - in a tissue box! I was going grocery shopping and just discreetly carried the tissue box to the trash on the way in.
And I still have the test I took from my daughter and both the ones from this one. I can't bear to throw them away! My first preg was w/ a digi so it eventually died. :/

Isn't zofran the best? I've been on it a couple times and it makes a huge difference. They usually start you on a low dose, though, so if the nausea starts to get through it call and ask if you can take more. Wink

I got a 4mg 'script.. and I can take 2 every 8 hours. It works great, but I've noticed it's NOT the miracle drug I thought. I can not stuff my face with any and everything I want.... as I showed last night when I threw up all night. So, as long as I keep my food intake uh...low, I should be good. As long as I can still work and still eat a little bit, I'll be good. I got a little over-zealous last night..haha

With my most recent pregnancy 8mg every 8 hours wasn't enough. I was still super nauseous and vomiting sometimes. I ended up going to 8mg every 6 hours and that was wonderful. Like I said, if it's not working it can't hurt to ask. Wink
I hope pacing your eating works for you. And watch out for the constipation. Zofran can make that really nasty.

:lurk: I have to second the constipation issue. Make sure you keep on top of that or before you know it, it'll have been a week or more with no going and OUCH! I took zofran with my second daughter and it helped with the nausea for sure. Biggrin
