    Default M/S question

Anyone ever had blood in their vomit? Tonight I puked and at first it was food and then I was havind bouts of dry heaving and puked up blood and mucous. Is this normal? It wasn't a lot, it was like my mucous was streaked with blood. I'm going to call my midwife tomorrow, but I wanted to hear your thoughts too.

I've been throwing up for four weeks now and I haven't seen any blood in my vomit. However, I have had it in there before - the food might have scratched something coming back up and your throat is bleeding. Should heal itself and probably isn't anything to worry about.

I'm also thinking it could be from my dry nose. Its pretty scary to see though.

I have not specifically had blood in my vomit with m/s, but I have had it a few times when I was really sick with tummy bugs, and have asked my doctor about it. Apparently it can happen when your stomach is really really irritated. If I remember correctly, red blood is okay, it's dark digested blood that you have to worry about.

I haven't had any in my vomit, but I have been having blood when I blow my nose. It could be from your sinuses.

I have. Last time I was pregnant my ms was so severe that I tore/burned through my esophagus from vomiting. Nothing you can do about it but see if they will give you meds. So it's probably not in your tummy, just your throat bleeding.

Yeah I talked to a nurse, she said its normal to break blood vessels when you throw up so violently. I haven't puked since then, fingers crossed. She also told me to take a break from my prenatal and just take folic acid for a couple of days.
